Sink was blocked again with toothpaste and spit, so filled a 50cl water bottle with water, inverted over the plug hole, crushed the bottle to force water thru....glug, glug, water drain away nicely again...simples

You could avoid it altogether if you spit into the toilet bowl, that's what we do, no nasty mess in the sink then.

Do you open the blade first? Not sure that’s a tip for me, I have enough trouble bending down to sink level, no chance of getting close to toilet bowl.

I can also confirm that for narrow gaps above the outlet hole (where a bottle would not go) such as ours with a tip up sink, a bicycle pump works well 🙂

Probably reinforced with hair etc!!!!. I usually just 2/3 fill with water and flex the palm of my hand over it like a sink plunger. I then run some hot water through to try and clear it

How narrow is the waste pipe ?
Shouldn't block with spit and toothpaste.
A small plunger may be an alternative to crushing a plastic bottle, many sinks are a bit fragile ;)

Ours does. It is narrow bore, maybe as much as 10 mm ! With an outlet cover that is quartered and only 2 quarters fit directly over the pipe underneath. A toothpick just about goes in.

Please be aware that a lot of vans have push fit pipes. Too much pressure and all that nasty blockage will empty in your cupboard below the sink. Likewise a plunger could be disaterous to a thin plastic sink

Don't clean teeth with toothpaste, I use the loo to spit into like Minxy but as I have ducks disease I'm closer to the bowl than Riverbankannie cleaned and flushed my grey waste tank as it was getting stinky first time since owning the van
Emptied it before leaving this morning then in when the zoflora sloshed about in clean water as I emptied fresh water tanks into it sloshed about all the way home and emptied , seems fresher but only time will tell

Our pipework is rigid but the plughole is one of those really small ones, the hole is less than an inch and clogs up really easily, hence spitting into the loo as I then don't have to clean the plughole every time.

To clear blocked sink:-
Vinegar
Bicarbonate of soda
Hot water
Method:-
Couple teaspoons bicarb into sink plug hole, gently push as much as you can down with fingers or teaspoon.Mix vinegar with hot water about 1/3 vinegar to about 1/2pint h.water. Pour slowly down plug hole and put the sink plug on place. Leave for 10 minutes and then pour more hot water down.

If you're into mouthwash, just be careful about spitting that down the sink or loo as it can damage the plastic.

I was going to suggest the very same, works for van and home plug holes 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nothing beats a good plunging and the kids shouting about the bits of pasta they didnt eat two days earlier while the van empties!

+1. Usually works a treat, but if the sink or basin has an overflow then hold a wet flannel or cloth over it as you "pump"..
