I have recently bought a Tyrepal Solar system which I have installed. Everything is working Ok except for the fact that I can't see the image on the screen. It is mounted in the centre of the Fiat dash where it can get the sun to charge it but the brightness of the digits is so poor that I can't read them. I have contacted Tyrepal who have suggested sending it back for checking but before I do that, where do others mount theirs and can it be clearly seen?

Same for ourselves and mounted in same place to ensure it charges properly. Would be interested in the outcome of what TyrePal suggest.

I always find that LEDs are always too dark ro see when the sun is out.. I have my reversing camera and that does the same. The tyrepal is besides me and I depend on it alarming when the pressure drops then I would look at it. they all need backlighting but too cheap to have them made that way.

I have mine to the right of the dash above the air vent, I can read it and it charges just fine.

Are you trying to look at the display wearing Polaroid sunglasses? I have found that the screen goes blank whilst wearing Polaroids.

I have the earlier version - non solar - which sits at the front of the spare single din storage space above the radio, angled towards the driver and it is fine. But location obviously wouldn't work for a solar version, because it's shaded from the sun... doh. Also wouldn't work if you have a double din radio/sat-nav/integrated reversing monitor.

Mine is to the left of the centre of the dash behind and to the right of the instrument cluster, I can see it OK figures a bit small.

Thanks for your relies. It sounds as though it's a design feature. Might try moving it round until I get some visibility of the figures. It doesn't look as if there's any point sending it back but I will make them aware of what you all say.

You can get shades for Sat navs that clip on perhaps you could adapt one to fit your tyre pal monitor.(y)

Mine sits on a flat area of dash on drivers side and if bright sunlight I pick it up to check.

+1. And impossible if yiu have polarised sunglasses on unless you start doing an Indian head wag.

Yes, it's a design 'feature'. If a tyre loses pressure you'll see the display glow bright red and alarm loudly. At other times you need to lift it up and take a closer look to see the tyre pressures. I suppose there's not enough power to show the 'normal' display any better. The earlier (wired) versions had a much brighter display.

That's my problem as well. Otherwise it's OK. Mind you the ad pictures do give the impression that the unit is bigger.

I have a Chinese version of the solar Tyre pal which works really well. It has two brightness levels which are toggled by briefly pressing the power button.I have no problem reading the display, except when wearing sun glasses. Perhaps the Tyre pal head the same feature?
