Absolute beginners.
Hello, I was checking the tyres for correct inflation and the tyre I started with had a production date of [ 2318] That's sounds about right for a 2019 van.
However, all the rest have a date of [ 3419] That sounds quite odd for a March 19 Registered van. Anyone able the throw any light on this. The tyres have wear on them commensurate with an odometer reading of 17000 ???
Regards.
Mike

So you have tyres dated
23rd week of 2018, and 34th week of 2019. Can only assume some have been swapped at some point

I just had four new tyres fitted, three are from 1821, one is from 3220 so one is older by 9 months. It doesn't matter as tyres are classed as new for up to five years from the manufacture date according to industry standards and of course they must be stored correctly and unused. So as far as I am concerned the date for replacement purposes starts from the day the were fitted to my van.

I had 4 new ones yesterday 0821. The previous were the original ones from new in march 2014 and still looked fine I'll be surprised if we need any more.

I think the point is the tyre manufacturer date is after the vehicle was registered in March 2019 ?
I've no idea how that could happen unless your dealer swopped them during a service without telling you.
No other explanation I can think of for a manufacturer date of August 2019 on a vehicle registered new in March 2019

Correct, it's an odd one. I have not had a service put on it by a dealer. A wheel swap seems the most plausible, but it's another thing I didn't check when looking at the van, just that they had a decent amount of tread left on them.
