TV sound via bluetooth

This is me thinking......

We have an Avtex TV in the motorhome, which works well, although the sound quality isn’t great through the TV’s tiny speakers.
We’ve also got a good sound system in the motorhome which has good speakers.
The sound system has ability to play music from my phone or iPad using Bluetooth.
So why don’t Avtex TV have a Bluetooth transmitter so that I can play TV sound via the stereo? (Maybe it does?)

A quick google search finds a small Bluetooth transmitter for less than a fiver.

Would this work? I can’t see why not.
Anybody tried this?
Perhaps a problem is a delay in sound so that lip-synch goes all to pot.

Some avtex tv's have a built in FM transmitter.
It sends a signal to the radio and you tune it in on the FM radio band.
Check your specs or the tv's menu..

Cant see why the adapter you listed should not work..
For £5 worth a try at least..

I've used units like that in the past, only balls-ache is keeping them charged.

An alternative would be a long wire with 3.5mm plugs.

We have a Cello Traveller II with built-in Bluetooth and it works but you can have synching issues between the sound and what you are seeing. This only tends to happen if you fast forward to miss say some ads on s pre recorded usb stick for example.

When steaming live works a treat. You could also attach a cheap soundbar via the headphone socket. If you are off grid that would be s more power efficient method.

You would be surprisedch how much power a cab radio system draws.

You could try this

Avtex tv/dvd


To access additional functions….


1 – Press “source” button on remote


2 – Enter code “2580″ on the numeric keypad while select source menu is still on screen.


3 – Adjust to show ‘DivX’ ON OR USB ON


4 – Press ‘source to exit.


For TV’s with a DVD player use engineers code 9210, and you can also set the region code to ’0′ to watch DVD’s from any region.


To tune your radio to receive sound from your tv


You first need to find a ‘free’ frequency on your radio – say 93Mhz for example. Then on your AVTEX TV go into set up menu and find the tools icon (tabs on left hand side). You will see “FM Transmit” which needs to be set to ‘ON’ and below that “Transmit Frequency” which needs to be adjusted to the same free frequency you previously tuned your radio into… i.e 93Mhz

I use a pair of PC speakers fed by a USB socket, sound quality is great.

My avtex has a lead connected to the headphone output and back of the head unit. So it uses the cab speakers but tge head unit does not need to be switched on. Hardwired.
