Just dropped my Mum's shopping off and picked up some post that I need to deal with and one of the items is to do with the TV Licence so I thought I'd put the info on here for others who are wondering.

If you get either the Guaranteed Credit or the Savings Credit you qualify for a free TV licence in which case you need to do the below in order to keep it!
  • You must complete a form to apply to receive it FOC and include a documentproving that you are in receipt of one of them; the documents which are acceptable are (different for Northern Ireland):
    • a letter from the Pensions Service; or
    • a letter from the Department for Work and Pensions
If you do NOT get the paperwork automatically sent to you before the new rules come in on 1st June 2020 make sure you do this otherwise you could end up without a licence.

The same letter also confirmed the free licence for all over 75’s has been extended by three more months due to CV ?
You must have got a later letter than my Mum as there's no mention of CV in it.

And I am quite likely merging two letters into one, both now filed ? but another nice gesture ?

Perhaps we should start a TV Licence Bank for poor underprivileged campers ?
