As the title suggests I want to get something to hold the tops of the rear doors on our PVC both open at 90°.
Dont even know if such a thing exists or what it would be called but did find a rear door awning that encloses the back of the van with the doors open so that must have the pole I am looking for but dont want the rest of it.
I have found various telescopic poles for curtains that might do the trick or my awning rafter(after I dont need it to hold the shower curtain) but cant find suitable clips for the ends.
Any ideas folks?
TIA

Measure the gap when your doors are open at the required width, get a piece of dowel cut to the length required, ( at least 2 inch) for the gap and fit gutter clips to the ends of the dowel and drop over the tops of the doors, cheap and easy And if you need shade just drop a cloth over the dowel and the van roof

Hi.
I use an old plastic/sliding "Awning rail. ( Can be cut to length, available from Bit Bins in c/van accessory shops ,with a rubber suction pad on each end, . Depending on how tall you are is the given amount of access into the rear. Slides down to pack.......... Jobs a good 'un.
Tea Bag.

Thank you for the offered solutions.
Dont think the suction cups will hold the doors in the wind as doors fold back 180° unless I can fix the mechanism to limit opening but gutter clips (which I have never heard off - sheltered life) attached to my awning rafter might just do the job.
Any more offers?

a couple of leather straps could be used as door restrainers to stop them opening more than 90 degrees, also look at restrictors for upvc doors. then a spring tension curtain pole, which has soft rubber cups each end

I have used a copper pipe with rubber stops on the ends to keep the conservatory doors open simple and effective.

Thanks for all the ideas folks. Prompted renewed searching online with a bit of lateral thinking.
My solution is going to be a telescopic alloy tent pole (if I get an answer from the Ebay seller) with rubber fishing rod 'butt' holders screwed on the ends. Should just push down over the top of the doors without marking the paintwork. Heath Robinson lives!

i would bolt a stainless steel eye bolt to each door and bend a bit of rod to hook in to them holding doors in a wind rakes more than a rubber clip
