I have just got van from reputable dealer with full hab check.
I am trying to light heater could not hear ignition so changed AA battery. Still no joy, am I missing something (gas Def on)?

Sometimes it takes a bit of time for the gas to come through. Keep trying.

But for a better answer you probably need to tell people what maker of van and model of heater. (y)

Does the hob light? Just to confirm that the Gas is flowing.

If not then you are either out of gas, remote gas crash solenoid needs resetting, or the little push button needs pushing on the gas connector at the bottle (equalises the pressure between bottle and line).

I always used to light the hob first, seems to draw the gas through the system quicker. Especially when trying to light the fridge!

That was near impossible if you didn't light the hob first.
