Anyone help with this. Truma not turning on & showing H517 and the warning triangle. Had this before & after I filled up with autogas propane it worked. Today I have gas ( ie gas at the double hob). Not sure if gas is low & so that’s why Truma not firing ( low pressure?). But - the question is: Why can’t I use the electric to heat. Nothing works on the Truma. Would have thought that running out of gas should not stop the system using electric only. Any advice? Thanks

Have you tried turning it off completely that should re set it??

I hope some of this helps.

Remedy fault 507 / 516 / 517 (gas supply interrupted)
Note: If the fault 507, 516 or 517 is displayed in the heater's control panel, switching the control panel on and off does not help. This does not delete the fault, but blocks the heater for 15 minutes. The heater is also blocked for 15 minutes if the fault 507, 516 or 517 is deleted four times without the gas supply being established.

Remedying flashing fault 507 / 516 / 517 (gas supply interrupted)
The fault code 507, 516 or 517 flashes because the heater is still in a 15-minute blocking time. This was possibly caused by the heater control panel being switched off or because the heater's 12-Volt supply was interrupted. The heater is also blocked for 15 minutes if the displayed fault is deleted four times without the gas supply being restored.
  • Wait out the 15-minute blocking time for the heater. During this time, do not switch off the heater's control panel and also do not interrupt the power supply.
  • As soon as the heater's blocking time has expired, the fault is then displayed permanently rather than flashing. It can now be deleted as described in the point above.

Have you moved the dial on control panel to EL1 or EL2 for the heating to work on electric. Its the 3rd one along on my mileo. Once you scroll to either of these you need to push the knob in to confirm.

Hi Irnbru. Yes moved to EL1 & confirmed that setting. No good. Same if try EL2. My confusion is about why the electric (EL 1 or EL2) will not work if the issue is over the gas. I read the reply from Speve but not sure what is meant by turning it off & then on. Is this the Truma? If so I tried that & no good. Also waited the 15 mins as Dave & Sally point out ( & I saw read this procedure & tried it but the fault persists). So I am stumped & will contact the dealer tomorrow. Am guessing if I fill up with propane it will clear the fault as this H517 happened after I first took delivery of MH & turned on heating & the gas cylinders were empty. Filled up with propane & all then worked . But - why can’t it work on EL 1 or 2 with no gas. It’s inevitable we we at some point run out of gas again & then have no heating on EL1/2 without having propane. This can’t be right.

Have you checked the large trip switches most likely under the seat near the boiler?

Ah - good idea. Just checked. All ok & we are running a fan heater so no problem with power supply from hook up. Everything else seems to be working. Just not the Truma on the EL1/2. Strange. Will contact the dealer 1st thing Monday.

My experience with dealer knowledge of Truma is not brilliant. Not sure where you are based but if you possibly can, take it to Truma Service Centre near Uttoxeter. Excellent service at reasonable price and they know what they’re talking about and have all the spares.

If the heater has shut down improperly it can lock out all functions for 15 minutes. Truma say not to switch off during this period, presumably it should reset thereafter.

I have followed several postings about the 517 fault code and on more than one occasion the problem has been caused by a faulty regulator. It can be deceptive because low demand functions like the hob will work normally but not the heater, which needs a lot more gas.

It is not inconceivable that there could be more than one fault but I think it only shows one fault code at a time. There is a slow burn 240V fuse within the Combi which I have had blow more than once, it is difficult to get at. I think there is also an overheat lockout button under the top cover on the Combi, best check the manual for these bits.

Hi - we had the same problem on Friday evening - hooked up and all seemingly ok with lpg. But wanted to use hook up source not the gas to heat. Spoke to Truma (in Germany?) and the very helpful English speaking lady told us to let the flashing E517H warning continue for 15 minutes. It should then stop flashing and then you can press the big black button on the control panel once to “accept” the fault and again to “reset” the fault. Hey Presto - it worked! :xThumb:
She also gave me a UK contact number - if you are still having problems let me know and I’ll dig it out for you.

Its sounding to me there seems to be too many issues with these units and they are not fit for purpose. Mine is hopefully getting sorted next week.

How did your problem get resolved Ju.Ca ?

Would be great if you came back to give us an update, it might help others in the future.

In Spain......FLTing......no EHU.......disaster last night when Truma went into fault condition with no heating or hot water!!!! SWMBO not happy. Days are warm and sunny, but evenings/overnight rather cold - not bad for February and a lot better than the UK just now. Fault code E517H displayed. “No need for panic” I said “MH Fun will know what to do”. So followed all the advice above about the 15 mins timeout and all is well...... we have heat and hot water this morning....... so SWMBO has no excuse for not doing the washing up.....
and hopefully showing her gratitude to me in the expected way!

Once again...... many thanks to those who contributed to this thread and (y)(y)(y) for the MH Fun Forum.:giggle:

Oh no! SWMBO just read my previous posting. It seems it is me that is in hot water.:(
