We have a Truma CP Plus to control our heating and hot water, on electric or gas or a mix, we normally use EHU. I usually operate the controller using the Truma App on a phone, but we are having a couple of problems, and the system is new to us:

When the heater is on, the water (which we do not use) also gets hot, this is with the controller Water Temperature set on OFF, at the OFF/Eco/Hot setting options. Can’t we turn water heating off or is there a fault?

I also find the control panel is very unresponsive. Pressing/Tapping the Rotary Push Button is very hit and miss, and often seems to have no effect, so using the App to control it. Is it likely that the controller is faulty or is it possible that using the App to control it I have ended up in some obscure mode, which makes it unresponsive?

TIA

Can’t comment on the unresponsiveness or otherwise of the controller, but ours works fine and responds to every press and turn. As to the water, it will heat up to a certain extent as the heater and water boiler are all in one unit.

On the Truma 4E/6E boilers, When Heating is selected, If the boiler has been filled, the water is automatically heated as well.

I can't imagine that the responsiveness of the Control Panel has been affected by using the App. I don't have the iNet installed so only use the onboard controls. I do find that the rotary selector is sometimes a bit sticky which may seem like it is unresponsive.

As I have recently upgraded our Truma 4e to add both the CP Plus panel and iNet controller, I may be able to offer some pointers.

Firstly, I do not believe that the use of the App on a phone will interfere with the use of the panel per se, but it is possible that at the point where the App is in communication with the CP Plus panel via the iNet box operation of the panel may be ignored.

Secondly, the lack of responsiveness of the panel may have a very simple cause. Behind the main knob/switch on the panel there is a fixing screw and, if the head of this protrudes, it will inhibit the use of the knob in push-button mode. (Guess how I found that out? ?). If you are confident enough to check this out yourself, then the knob simply pulls off from the D-shaped spindle to reveal the screw in question. As the plastic frame and fixing are not very substantial, any adjustments should be undertaken with care. ? The knob can be replaced by lining up the D hole in it’s back with the spindle shape and simply pushing back on. When I did this with mine, it transformed the operation of the panel from really tedious to fully functional.

As others have already noted, heat from the van heating will bleed into the water even when the latter is switched “off”.

Hi, don't know if you have this sorted, but I found that the remote control via Bluetooth was intentionally disabled if there was a firmware update required, although it worked fine by SMS. Additionally my control panel occasionally behaves erratically when used manually, when this happens (not often) I do a quick reset and all returns to normal.

You were spot on - the push in knob was bottoming. Working much more sensitively now

Thank you ericroy I had missed the little screw not being flush with the plastic. Control knob problem now solved.
