They sometimes take a fair bit of purging the air from the gas lines. Have you tried it repeatedly?

They monitor the gas pressure more than cookers and fridges - is the pressure regulator ok on the bottle?

Have you got it on hot water and there is no water in the boiler?

I assume it works ok on 240v? Have you checked the 12v fuse?

Is there any fault codes?

Yep agree with that also, if mine has been parked up any length of time then it takes a few on / off twiddles to get it to ignite.

Check the contacts on all the wiring and clean them if nescessary, we had a similar problem with our trumatic C (2002 vintage) it would come on, run for a while and then cut in and out and give us a flashing red light.
I disconnected all the harness plugs especially the ones on the circuit board and gave them a good spraying with contact cleaner and then pushed them on and off a few times to help clean the contacts.
This cured our problem, so maybe worth giving that a go if other suggestions don't work.

Before you get any new parts try this.
On one end of the Truma is a slotted panel that clips on \ off. Opposite end from the heating outlet pipes. It's bottom right if you were looking from the end on and, maybe, around 6" x 4".
Remove this panel and you'll find the combustion air intake fan behind it.
Despite the slots the fan tends to collect dust \ hair \ etc and clog up.
Give the fan a good (careful) brush out with a dry small paint brush (1/2" - 1") and give it a manual turn. You might even have to give the spindle of the fan a light tap.
Hopefully, this will allow the fan to turn at the correct speed and clear the error message.
If this fails, you're back to KUSKUS suggestions above.
Hope it is the fan clogged up as the parts noted ain't cheap!

Thanks, we called in at Campingshow Vervaet at Lokeren. They checked the fault codes and said slow gas or blocked, may be because we drained the LPG tanks. We asked them to fit 2 filters to the lpg tanks, hoping it'll clear the gas pipes. Its intermittent and worked 3 times out of 5 goes at the garage. So we think they were right, we left gas/ hot water on and have driven about 85k downtown Tyne Cot cemetery bandits all working again. The fitter seemed to k ow this problem with Trumas, they only charged us for the 2 filters fitted for free.

Others have previously reported similar intermittent problems when the issue was the gas regulator. Not experienced it myself. Filters sound like a good idea. I have a Truma filter on the regulator and have found oily liquid trapped in the filter body, if this had reached the regulator it could well have gummed it up a bit. Is it possible that your regulator got oiled up?

Truma fitter changed the gas regulator for new Truma Duo regulator and hey presto, gas pressure on cooker is up and boiler working much better now. He said regulator was bunged up with crud. Probably from gas. As we have filters on as well this shouldn't happen again.

Glad you got it sorted out and good to hear what the cure was, I'm sure it'll be useful to someone else in the future.

Yes they also relieved us of €450. Don't know if that's good or not, we've noticed the cooker and grill pressure is up too. We hadn't noticed the pressure dropping over time.

I am going to my motorhome to try and test it at the weekend so I will give more info then, when I was trying to put my heating on I was on site the highest setting it didnt work 1800w electric and gas the fan stopped. But when I put it on 900w elec and gas it did work but was only luke warm, although the outlet nearest to the boiler was the hottest.

I wonder if the site 240v supply did not have enough amps to run a 1800w Truma. Especially abroad some are only 6 amp supplies.

On the lower setting it would have maybe been a 1/3 of that and the output then would have been very Luke warm.

I wonder if you just have a gas problem only?

If you want to test that the fan is working correctly & can run at fastest speed,
just set dial to hot water only @ 60 degrees & power source gas.

when orange light on dial goes out , water has reached temp, them move
dial all the way down to heating & hot water. The fan should run at full speed to cool the boiler, before the heating side starts.

I had a problem with the fan on mine, this was the test that Truma tech , told me to do to test the fan.

hope it helps.

Checked as you say and all well, thanks for the tip. Only problem I have is that some of the outlets don't blow as much air as some of the others. Think I'll try hoover up the pipe.

Check the security of the air trunking connections to the boiler, I have added extra fixings to prevent them coming adrift.
