I have a 3.5year old boiler that is leaking from the water tank. I have read a previous thread on how to remove the tank but have got stuck on trying to release the sixth nut holding the tank in place. It is behind the spiral casing plate (34020-01500) that appears to be held in place by one bolt. I have removed this bolt but the plate remains firmly in place.

Has anyone else removed this plate? I can not see any other nuts or bolts holding the plate in place. There is no movement of the plate at all.

Any help much appreciated.

If you scroll down the forums to Motorhome mechanical and technical then look at heating and Air conditioning section there was a post today on the 4E system stripdown that may help.
There is also information in the Resources section (to the right of subscriptions on top line)in the Motorhome Technical Articals by Abacist

I am struggling to remember! Have you got the "hamster wheel" off? Is there a fixing behind the wheel?

Are you sure its not the gasket that has welded the two bits together?

Trying to help so the spirit is willing but the memory not so good I'm afraid!

Unfortunately it just says to remove the cover plate to expose the last bolt. So still no further forward. I have obviously posted this in the wrong part of the forum, is there a way of moving it to the correct section?

The hamster wheel is way off to the right of the plate i want to remove so i don‘t think this will help. There is a strip single gasket behind it but i have applied excess pressure to move this plate and there is no give what so ever. Could heating up the casing help?

IN my original post in the resources download each post is numbered in the top right corner so your post above is #5 In this thread. Tell us where you have got to by giving us the post # you have achieved and which one you are stuck on. It might help me remember if I know exactly where you are in the process. Sounds like you are trying to get the cover off the gas combustion chamber.

You could also take a photo to show where you are and post it up!

you are taking apart a 6E whereas mine was an earlier model so maybe different!

You mentioned it first in #14. You refer to it as an aluminium insert where the fan housing was. Img_3484/5/6 Show the part i am trying to release.

On the right side there is a triangular section in which there is a “gadget” to be removed which holds that circular plate in place once you have removed the single bolt. My image 3483 shows it once removed which might help. Part #130 and 140 in the exploded diagram. I see to remember it being easy with a bit of a fiddle!

Many thanks for your help. On review of one of your pictures i confirmed there was nothing else holding this plate in place and applied significant pressure to it, and it came free. I can now continue removing the water tank.
