With my Truma Aventa air con in quiet mode it’s not that quiet inside the van and certainly not quiet enough to sleep through without earplugs. I am asking myself now if this is the normal sound level on quiet mode , can anyone confirm please?

We can certainly hear ours when it’s running (infrequently) but find the benefit outweighs the noise as far as sleep is concerned 👍

I take you have it set on night mode ?
ours is hardly audible at that setting

Certainly doesn't stop us from sleeping
My neighbour who is 15 foot away at most cant hear it on the night mode setting

We have the Aventa compact and similar to Neil S if it's set to night mode, it is very quiet both inside and outside the motorhome.

Yes I do switch it to night mode but it’s still not a noise I can sleep through . It is pretty quiet outside for the neighbours but inside it’s an earplug job for sure. Is you unit away from your sleeping area maybe?

Yes its right in the middle of the van above the kitchen area
We just direct the airflow to either back or front or both
In Spain at the moment and its been close on 100f some days and very humid
Tried just using fans and opening all the windows but just doesnt cut it
We have Truma Aventa Compact + and its been brilliant

Ah that might be it , mine is in the sleeping area and its the Comfort unit which is a little more powerful maybe.

Compact Plus is more or less the same power as the larger Aventa Comfort you have. It's made compact by eliminating the heating, but the cooling is almost the same.

Think you are just sensitive to noise - the rest of us get used to it and enjoy being cool.

If you can't get used to the aircon on night mode, make sure you don't ever have a compressor fridge! (Which you also get used to). :nerd:

Disagree, I have a Dometic compressor fridge and it doesn't bother me at all on night setting . The Truma air con is nowhere near as quiet imo, maybe your hearing isn't so good as mine 😂
