Heading to France on Thursday with the final destination Oaradour sur gland.
I’m intrested in warry stuff.
looking to stop at caen do the beach landings area and head down to La Rochelle area then across.
looking for ideas re campsites, aires and possible nice spots to stop
Got 10 days in total
Never spent any time in France in campervan so any advice is much appreciated
cheers

Lorient is well worth a visit to look at the submarine pens there. The museum and history of submarine construction in the region is really fascinating.

I think we parked on an aire at Port Louis and caught a boat over but you can just park by the museum to visit .

The camping municipal in Arromanches is a five minute walk into the town. Don't miss the 360 experience there though it is a steep hill to walk up. The is an aire within easy walking of Ste Mere Eglise again don't miss the Airborne Museum there. The car park at the American Cemetery at Colleville has plenty of parking.
The museum at Bayeux has room too and it's a short walk to the CWG cemetery and a slightly longer one back into the town for the Tapestry.

There is an aire at Oradour and a car park closer to the old village which we, and others, parked motorhomes in.

Hope this helps

If you are heading for La Rochelle the highlight of the holiday could be Pu du Fou theme park
What an awesome day out and you can stay overnight on their Aire

Pointe du Hoc and Maisy Barracks are worth a look, they are German emplacements pretty interesting from the other side. Both in Normandy.

As said Arromanches is a must , aire on the top as well as in the town, Fougeres is a great place to visit on the way down to La Rochelle the park and ride is now the place for motorhome parking and Oradour has a great aire ten minutes walk from the village. Beware !0 days is not a lot of time to do what you want . Check my blogs they might help as i have done the route a few times.

thanks for that I’ll check out the blogs
I think your right 10 days may be an underestimation, but I’ll see how far I get
thanks again all

Futuroscope just outside Poitiers is a hoot of a theme park, and has a vast aire. We are not TP people but really enjoyed our day there.
