Been a frantic few months, family stuff seems to rob us of what opportunities i normally have, so my usual prep regime for the year has gone out of the window. We are away this weekend , i think its the fifth time its been off the drive, and im aware that pretty much all i have done is empty the loo and fill it with water , and check the oil. Two of those trips have been 800 mile round trips.

What do other folk do? Are you a top to bottom cleaner before every trip, or are you always ready to go , and to hell with the polish?

It depends ... if we're going on one of our long foreign trips it gets a good sort out to ensure everything is working, all our stuff is packed properly (and is in it!), stock up the food etc, but as it always gets a full clean/sort out when we come back from a long holiday we won't normally do another deep clean, just a dust and vacuum usually.

If its a weekend trip though we usually have sufficient stuff in already so just put water in, a bit of fresh grub, PJs etc and we're off.

Long enough
We check the tyre pressures, check there's enough Werners Original and Chocolate Eclairs, make sure there's some toilet rolls on board, check we have a carton of wine and a bottle of brandy and we're off,

Sod the cleaning
