just looking
We are planning on moving into a motor home and travelling for a couple of years, has anyone got any advice on how I can Safely take our Parrot who we have had for 25 years.
Many thanks
Bob.

Welcome to Fun 🤩

Sorry, I can’t advise on your parrot, but possibly a little more info could get results, such as if you intend to try overseas travel, cage size etc, as I’m sure someone will have some advice for you 👍🏻

We are looking to travel around Europe, as for the cage size that’s the problem I have how will I fix a cage when on the move and the size will depend on what motor home we will buy. I’m hoping someone is already travelling with a Parrot who can give me some advice.
Many thanks
Bob.

Just tie it’s legs to the wing mirror with some string, it won’t affect your payload then, that’s assuming it can fly.

SWMBO has asked if parrots suffer from travel sickness 🤷🏼‍♂️

She says that the nearer you get to the back of the van, the worse it would be. Also know this from travelling with the cat, that he finds comfort in laying between the seats, as it rocks so much at the rear 🤪

I met a guy in a A class who had a standard sized Parrot cage housing an African Grey which he placed in the toilet area with foam padding to hold it in place whilst travelling. He was at a site on Skye about 5 years ago. He didn’t let it out on Skye as he was worried a Goldie may carry it off 🥴🥴

We travel with a macaw. She travels on the table in a dog travel cage strapped down. We move her to the bed when on site. It would depend on how big your parrot is and if it will stay in its cage or sit on a stand when pitched. We travel with our macaw during the current bird flu pandemic but keep her inside all the time.
