Just looking at insurance as we are off to Venice on Thursday for a few days (not in the van)

However want to get a 12 month policy as the plan is to go off in the MH in August to Norway, hoping to get up to Lofoten at least.

This will be our first very long trip and the current plan is to set off beginning of August and come back some time in September.

Using money supermaket to compare prices and given that we could be away up to maybe 50 days the quotes shown have varied maximum lengths (and therefore costs)

It makes sense to ask here because there are plenty who spend longer away and I am sure there is a welath of knowledge to be gleaned.

So, any help welcomed.

Another Nationwide £13 a month flex plus account holder here.
Insurance plus AA breakdown makes it worth it.
NB I have additional health implications which are covered for an additional but not compulsory fee. Not compulsory because if you’re happy not to need cover for a condition they omit cover for that condition. Think I paid an extra £60 or so.
Bit of a faff changing accounts I know but we’ll worth it.

Wow, just had a look at the Flex account, looks like it would be well worth switching to this, would certainly save us money as I am paying £170 for the AA membership currently!

Thanks for the responses.

The flex account only covers you for 30 days travel insurance. Extensions can be bought at a cost.
90 days is about £125 for a couple.

Check out the terms and conditions of the breakdown cover. What length and weight and where they will take you once recovered.

I ended up with RAC for travel insurance this year. Decent Defaqto 5* cover from a company that won't go bust, be incommunicado or excessively quible in a stressful situation. £72 for annual cover for 4 people including several pre-existing conditions.

Also, don't forget to apply for GHIC cards.

Not worried about the MH insurance, that is covered by the van insurance. It is the health cover that is important.

LV premier annual multi trip, up to 90 days per trip no limit on the number of trips per year and pretty competitive on price.
I agree they are very competitive especially if you have other insurances with them we have all of ours with LV= as they are well thought of and easy to deal with😊👍👍👍

We have used nationwide for a long time and if you recommend a friend you each get £100 (I think the scheme is still active)
I recommended a young relative then she later recommended her boyfriend so she ended up with £200

The UK has a reciprocal agreement with Norway so you just need to show your passport to get the same care as a Norwegian national, this won't cover repatriation though for which you would need separate insurance.

And you'll still want the GHICs to actually get to Norway, unless you're getting the MH shipped.
