I have phoned Nationwide (Flexplus) but they have no Covid cover at all. Their worldwide annual multitrip quote for us is less than £300. We can extend the cover if extra days needed for a small amount extra. We've been with them several years but never had to claim.
Staysure are offering to cover basic medical expenses if Covid is caught while on holiday. They said this would include extra accommodation, etc but still repeated 'basic medical expenses' when reading out what was included. If over 70 the limit per trip is 35 days and cannot be extended. If I want 36 days I have to purchase an entirely new single trip cover for 36 days.. I asked for several quotes covering different scenarios including a single trip 50 days but have not been sent them. I received one quote sent before the information was all given, and that is all. The cost for part of Europe only, excluding a long list of countries such as Greece and Spain, is almost £250.
Does anyone know anyone else doing Covid 19 (caught abroad) cover? Or any recommendations for different companies?

The longer that you can wait the clearer the picture will be. We are/were with Nationwide and have cancelled the extensions, but hope that when things settle down we will be able to take out a new extension of cover with them, that will be comparable to what others are offering

There are lots doing Covid cover. No idea how much it is though.......

AXA for example:

I have a trip planned and bought insurance after coronaviurs was declared as a pandemic. Will I be covered if I contract coronavirus while on that trip?

Yes - AXA will cover emergency medical claims for customers who contracted coronavirus abroad, provided you didn’t travel against government advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).

I'm not worried about it now. Corvids has all but disappeared in the UK . There is even less chance of catching it any were else in Europe.

I can recall when you thought that it was no more than Flu ;)

Interesting I have flex cover that does not run out till April 2021 .
I rung them up to see if I could cancel the policy as it’s looks like I won’t be touring till next year . You’ve guessed it can not cancel or get a refund
I assume that I am covered for every thing but who knows .
my wife and I are over seventy so it’s very expensive but what can you do
I just received an email from the C/C club . All winter rally’s has been cancelled until further notice
a lot of us old folk enjoy those rally’s
but there you go
happy days

We have FlexPlus and have cancelled the extension payments, for medical and extra days, and have been told that we will be refunded back to mid March. Still waiting for the cheque though

Wonderfull thing insurance great when you are making the payment . But when it comes to a claim now there’s another story
but what can you do you have to have it just in case . But when making a claim I prepared to go all the way to get it sorted .
there are people who just give up
happy days
