Looking at getting a motorcycle trailer.
Armatige do a transverse one...bit pricey at 2 grand.
Anyone with experience of these type of trailers?
Thanks.
Bob

Look a pig to reverse, but not sure a longitudinal trailer a bike-length-short would be much better.

I'd prefer an armatige if budget allows, seem easier to store and the tilting ones easier to load.

Brilliant bit of kit, follows very well almost forget it's there. Reversing is ok with a review camera and with practice ok with me as used to reversing trailers. But easy to unhook and move manually.

I had one and it was excellent. I bolted an aluminium checker plate storage box to the A frame, bought from Ebay. I then bolted two bike rails to the top of the storage box which enabled me to carry the scooter, 2 bikes, awning and other stuff. With a reversing camera it's relatively straightforward to reverse if you take your time.;

Do you by any chance have a photo of the nine rails please.

I have recently bought the CMF side loading trailer and have just bought the metal storage box. Yet to get round to bolting it on. But was thinking would be ideal to be able to add the two e-bikes too.

I found some old photos. I actually put the box on the back and not the A frame!

That’s great Steve thanks 👍👍

Is that a couple of support bars fitted under the box. It must have been a bit of a stretch over the box to guide the bike up onto the trailer or did you have a second person on the trailer ?

I see one bike is on the a frame, I presume supported to the frame there’s for the motorbike. How did you support the rear bike to to keep it vertical

Sorry for the many questions 🙏🙏

I extend the existing box section. The trailer was so well balanced I could completely load it unhitched and then wheel it up to the van and attach it. I think I used to secure the bike on the box to the scooter luggage rack

Yep, it’s the same trailer as mine and as you say so well made and balanced. Can move it around with the scooter on almost one handed .

Thanks for the information, wry much appreciated 👍👍

It depends on the weight of the bike you are planning to carry, but Armitage also do a fixed bike rack. I have one that attaches to pre-drilled holes in the AlKo chassis of our motorhome and is easily removed if not required. It has a recommended max loading weight of 150kgs but can comfortably exceed that. Only downside is that it adds weight if your already struggling with payload. I use mine for going to track days and bike meets. I'm crap at reversing so don't have a problem with this set up. And I can't drive off and leave it behind.........................;)
