We are looking to retire next year , put our motorcycles in a trailer and see parts that were to far from home when we were working. I see that there are a lot on this site that ride and some who trailer there bikes like we intend to. How do you go on for insurance? At the moment the camper is insured, the bikes are insured, but that is three policies and does not include the trailer which will be around £4000. Is it possible to cover all four items on one policy? I am thinking more of theft than anything else, if the trailer was stolen with the bikes inside how would you claim?

Generally the legal side of insurance for trailer is a part of your vehicle insurance but only 3rd party cover. Cost of insuring trailer for all risks is usually very cheap and should be able to be a part of either house or vehicle insurance. They will have stipulations like wheel lock and hitch lock when parked up. Do ensure your bikes are insured when on the trailer though - T&C 's vary between companies and the Bike people may refuse to insure the bikes when in transit and expect you to take a out a separate load insurance to cover.
