Ive just uprated my mh to 4 tonnes. My new plate has arrived and now the train weight section simply has a dash in it.
Does this mean I can’t tow anything? Anyone any experience of this?

This is a generic plate I have found on the Web. The difference between the gross weight 4250kg and the train weight 5500kg is the load you can tow. If the 2 numbers are the same, the motorhome does not have any towing capacity.

When I uprated my Hymer the max weight stayed the same so I could tow less .
I went from 3500kg to 3850kg but max stayed at 5500kg

Except the plated train weight has no digits. ..just a 'strike-through'

When I updated many years ago the Train weight stayed the same so in effect you can tow less weight than you did before, unless as mentioned you have updated to the original Train weight

Same happened to me when I have the van up plated.

Got back in touch with SV Tech who said it was as Bailey didn’t have a figure for GTW on their plate. I informed them even Bailey literature said it has a towing limit so SV got in touch with Bailey who confirmed it could tow and that they had missed it off their plate in error. SV Tech reissued the plate with correct info on it.

But basically if there is nothing on the plate for GTW then it can’t tow. My SLK was like that.
