As the joke goes the Germans always get up early and put their towels on the sunbeds.
Now they have the whole resort to themselves.

A German guy i work with always jokes that there's a "towel" option when you book package holiday, you click on that and the towel is placed on said sun lounger at point of booking. I too showed him that lovely Carling add.

When i was flying for a short time in Turkey for a joint German-Turkish airline we stayed in a German owned hotel.

Each morning when I went down in the lift to the garden level restaurant, when the doors opened there was a crowd of Germans pushing into the lift, all holding their lunch spoils they had nicked from the buffet, making it difficul to exit the lift. After a few mornings of this as I got out I pushed the 'Emergency Stop' button. I do not know how long they stood there.

Plenty of worldwide hotels we've been to have prominent '' No sunbed reservation '' signs, it wasn't a surprise to see many a towel in the pool during the first few days.

Bit harsh if the user of the sunbed went to the loo - instead of pissing in the pool.

They don't need to this week as they are the 'test' guests, 5000 of them to check the 'new normality' of the hotels out in Mallorca.

Reminds me of when we were at a site near Poitier. A group of German vans arrived at intervals throughout the day being on a tour but travelling individually. In the evening they put tables and chairs out for a communal meal and while they were in their vans prettying themselves I walked across and put towels on a couple of their chairs. They were trying to work out where they had come from but when I walked across and explained where they were from and why I had put them there they saw the funny side and had a laugh with us. They then invited us across for the evening.

years ago in magaluf as we came home from the clubs we used to throw all the
towels on the sunbeds into the pool
Same happened when we were in Cancun , the hotel was full of Germans and just a handful of Brits , we christened our end of the bar “ Stalag 13 “
The pool was literally awash with their towels at 7 in the morning , never did find out who threw them in , there were signs everywhere saying not to towel reserve the loungers so might of been hotel staff !
