Just seen this in RIDE magazine and wondered how it affects anyone towing a car/motorcycle or even a motorcycle in their garage.
Sorry it’s a photo but I couldn’t copy it otherwise.

There was I pondering chopping the E-Bikes for a little scooter that will fit in the garage. Perhaps I should hang on until the dust settles.

Bear with me on this.

Thought process. Keep bike in van going over to France but use one of the frequent traveller tickets to show that the motorbike has its own ticket for return, this would negate the reason that i might be trying get away with import tax and show I am taking it back.
Then when through customs I could cancel the return journey for the motorbike.

Either thats brilliant thinking or plain stupidity

Even Solicitor Andrew Dalton can't give a definitive answer to the query. I have no idea how it will be interpreted at point of entry and departure, there again the French may just shrug their shoulders.

Wondering if we have any more up to date info on this. Has anyone had a problem while towing a car or motorbike?

Scooter in garage going and coming back. MH checked at Eurotunnel Calais by French, not a peep, didn't ask for any documents at all. Will do exactly the same early next year, just took V5, insurance and green card. More interested in checking the toilet and under bed (no storage there!!) for illegals. Other MH's, cars towing bikes, went through as well.

For what it’s worth, it’s my understanding (from reading other articles on the issue but don’t ask me where 🤷‍♂️) that if you’re the registered keeper there shouldn’t be an issue.

So I wonder why they don't seem bothered about caravans, camping trailers etc?
