Hi

Really sorry to ask yet another newbie question.

I assumed that my van would be equipped with a tow jack and towing 'eye' in case I need to be recovered or indeed, towed off a damp pitch.

I cannot locate one anywhere.

Originally I emailed Burstner about this and also about a spare wheel but they informed me my van was never supplied with a spare wheel, no biggy, I had purchased a can of tyre inflator quick fix, as a worst case solution.

However, they also suggested looking under both drivers and passenger seats as the towing eye and jack would be found under one of these.

Imagine my surprise when all I can see under both seats is wiring, heating vents and electronics!

I thought I would come back to this fount of knowledge to see if you have any ideas?

Jack and towing eye and basic tools are always supplied. Will be in a black plastic box as not under the seat often fitted in the garage or under a bed big enough not to miss.
Compressor and goo in a zip up container separate to jack box. We have had vans with & without spare wheel always come with jack & compressor.

I have looked everywhere I can think off and cannot seem to locate this!

I will have another look later and then may resort to the link supplied (MANY THANKS).

Just noticed it's not a new van so looks like previous owner had it away. Forget about the goo when you get a punture in a Motorhome it normally wrecks the tyre, you really don't want to be without a spare wheel.

Usually in a toolkit pull out box under the passenger seat

Yeah, it's there on Fiats, you have to slide the passenger seat back as far as it will possibly go in order to even feel it let alone see it.

Does it also need the extra long towing eye to screw in rather than the standard fiat one, before you order one.

It's a low profile so standard Fiat front end so standard one should be OK.

To be honest I have never, ever changed a tyre in my life.

That is what I pay AA/RAC for.

Don't plan on changing anytime soon! :)

FOUND IT.

Huge thanks for your patience everyone.

It was under the drivers seat.

Could not see it for looking, until I pushed drivers seat al l the way forward, then I could see the tools and box.

Pulled it back and found the clip to release the front of the seat cover.

Well at least the pushing the seat all the way back advice was correct, even if I got the wrong seat!

That's because it's Sedge posing this and it was last night too! LOL And towing eyes, jacks and tyres are Pete's domain, not mine.
