Morning all,
I'm hiring a tow car for our trip round Scotland in September,I can't find any info' on tyre pressure.
Do I leave it at normal running pressure, increase it all round, or just increase the rear?
My MoHo is a 05 Swift Sundance 2.8 JDT.Any of you good folks out there put me right on this issue.
this is only my second post so I'm looking forward to your replies:giggle:.

Hi.
Sorry, I do not understand what you mean by "a tow car". Is this one you will tow behind your MH or one to tow you? If towing it is this on a trailer or with an A frame?
Regards

The few kilos an A frame will impose on the towbar are neither here nor there.
Leave the pressures as they are.

Has the car you intend to tow with an A-Frame been modified accordingly?

Hi there Ian,
As far as I'm aware,it's an hire car from Calder Valley motorhome sales.

Wonder who@s insurance is covering the tow car when its hooked up i led to belive the MoHo policy will cover it under their trailer cover
but only up to their trailer limits, and the cars policy usually only cover 3rd party risks when towed. So who is underwriting/resposable for the true value of the Tow car if written off whilst being towed The Hirer ? :Eeek: :Eeek: :Eeek: :Eeek:

I would ask the question, to be sure. Are they renting it as a tow car?

You wouldn’t wanted to turn up only to find that you’d need someone else to drive the car.

Ian

Edit: Just checked their site and it does look as thought they also hire tow cars!
Apologies if the challenges you’ve had come across as though you weren’t aware of the issues /requirements but ‘stranger things have happened’! 😉

Its a very grey area and a hole someone could fall into
and typical car hire policies are full of holes even though you think you have done everything right
Yes indeed the right questions really do need asking
