New to it
Have a 17 plate ellddis 105. The missus bought some “magic glue less hooks” to hang bits and bobs in the walls. Despite claims that they were micro suction activated. They have efficiently removed patches of veneer leaving ugly white patches of substrate.
Any ideas of how to repair/cover without causing further damage?

Are they all around the same area or spread around your van ?

If your wall covering is a woodgrain effect, then it will likely be impossible to repair without it sticking out like a sore thumb.

If the damage is all in the same area, then I would chose a sticky backed vinyl that is a contrasting colour and cover the entire area.

Arrgh, I've just hung a rather natty "It's Five o'clock Somewhere" bar sign on my accordo 120 wall. I used the command system. Ripped wall covering in prospect? Good grief. Oh well, drink up, it's five o'clock somewhere.

No help to you Dai37 I know, but a nice picture or sign might cover the damage.

Put a clock up to cover it

We had to leave a much loved wall plaque in our last van as removing it would have caused too much damage. wonder if the dealer got it off ok

Here it is, looks insignificant but it is in the doorway to the van so difficult to put anything to cover it with something physical. However thanks for your suggestions. You can see the offending hooks at the top of the picture. Avoid like the plague. Just had to repair some missing paint in the bedroom.

If you want to get the other ones off warm them with a hair dryer on low, a heat gun is too hot and will make the laminate bubble.

What about fitting a grab handle something like this.

If your going to remove the other hooks, then I would suggest that you use a hairdryer to heat the adhesive to soften it.

That's an easy job to cover that panel with sticky backed vinyl, I covered the whole of the interior paneling of a PVC we had with sticky backed vinyl.

You can get a repair wax crayon kit with lots of colours and mix to give an acceptable match however those patches look a bit to much for that I think I would go for a roll of wood grain fablon or similar as someone has already suggested🤔

I have found sites for both veneer and plastic. Have we any experts that can guess what type of wood that the veneer is meant to imitate, i cant seem to identify it.

You will not match the colour and grain pattern which is why you need to choose something as a contrast to make that panel a feature rather than an obvious cover up.
You could even cover the panel in cork tiles and use it as a pin board for photos and the like.

Looking at it, you could make a feature of it like this

Elddis woodgrain panelling is not a veneer, it a slightly textured print on a kraft type paper which is then applied to the panelling as is the panelling on our Elddis, so you will never find an actual natural wood species to match, believe my I have tried and have many many vinyl samples as a result.
For our van I contacted Elddis with our VIN number and they gave me the name of the colour/woodgrain effect of our van and I managed to track down some 3mm wall paneling that Kenmore Caravans had in stock to make up a door when I removed the microwave to turn the space into a cupboard.

I wouldn't worry about it no one else will notice or you could just put the hooks back with superglue

Another idea a 4" wide strip of black vinyl down the front of the panel, it would look like a design feature.

there's another thread running about sticky back tiles

I would either get creative with paints, a lot of trial and error and patience but far easier to just cover the whole area with vinyl then you can stick whatever hooks you fancy on it!

If you can supply a small piece of the covering a good DIY paint shop should colour match the background colour then get creative copying the grain effect.
