I thought i would join the above a month ago after seeing on here the money some are getting back. Seems to be a fiddle so far ive had to raise 4 claims for missing cashback or declined ones out of 6 things I've bought. Is it me or is it just a scam?

Sorry I think it may be you
Use them from time to time.
You need to open the various sites from the cashback link and best to have deleted cookies before you start.
They are not always the cheepiest option and usually will not work if you try to use discount codes at the same time.
Some savings are worthwhile but can be six months before the payment comes from the retailer.

We use Quidco, we've had just under £600 since using it. Some payments can take months before you get it. :giggle:

Hardly a scam :)

The declined were, well, pushing luck or using iffy codes at the same time

Be aware of any browser plug ins, dodgy search engines, or anything else "free" on your computer - as they make money somehow and, well, back in the day..... lets just say cookie dropping worked well :) Even pre installed stuff from suppliers can get in the way and "claim" the first click on a sale.

Perhaps install another browser and use that for purchasing.

(I use TCB and check quidco on large purchases, but just put in a claim to TCB for the difference and had 100% success in uplift)

I discovered that you can’t decline cookies so that may be the reason

I use TCB and Quidco . Some get declined but usually when I’ve pushed my luck with my Blue light card as well or if I’ve done a Confused.com quote and not followed through but gone back in later. That sort of thing.

Maybe its cos I didnt buy on first click as I rarely do so will test again. But I had one from AEG that was accepted then 2 weeks later declined.

It's definitely not a scam. We use it all the time. As said, you need to make sure you click through from TCB, else it won't track. You don't have to buy on the first click, just be sure to go back in via TCB next time you look.

If you ever have to lodge a claim for missing cashback, the system will show the dates and times when you used a site. If your date isn't there, you probably didn't go via TCB.

I don't purchase anything online without checking for cashback first.

Doesn't matter if its first click from TCB or the 5th, as long as you go from TCB. If you go from, say, google shopping or a link on here then the cookie they use may be valid for 24h/7d or whatever depending on the advertising conditions. Some purchases can track but if you use a voucher code from elsewhere it can be rejected, or if you did also go via an advert on another site they may "claim" the sales commission.

There is a lot of money to be made on adverts and commission :)

But if you never get any, I'd look a lot more closely at your device(s) and as you may have some inadvertent game/toolbar/plug-in/helper/freebie type junk that is stealing everything.

I’ve just been using it today to renew car insurance so I’ve been doing my Martin Lewis price comparison list. I’d decided and then remembered that youngest son had a speeding fine so had to do the whole flippin lot again. I have been in and out of the damn site a lot. I can assure you that I’ve seen those words “cashback will only be given on a new quote not a saved or retrieved quote”, many times today!

Interestingly it didn’t even make 1p difference after all that!

I remembered I used a black Friday code so that's maybe why, same with my new tyres from halfords so that will probably get declined too but I'll see.

When I first started using Topcashback I purchased some insurance and got back £120!!. Currently my account stands at over £450. As far as I am concerned its a no brainer, not a scam. I just do not worry if one purchase does not result in a small dividend. As others have said already discounted purchase may not produce a further pay out, also adblockers can stop payments.

I think I've been grimacing behind you lot at the supermarket checkout while you dig out all those coupons and dog-eared vouchers '\
I know ive been grimacing at them all where every little helps trying to resolve why the out of date, incorrect product, haven't spent enough to qualify, non scanning dog eared coupon won't work ;)

I really look forward to December :xdoh:

All the coupons appear to be out of Readers Digest or the Star Newspaper '\

What about people who get to the check out, pack their bags, then fish around in their bags for their coupons, which once handed to the cashier appear to be out of date, then with the new total reduced by £0.14 "Peer" at the till readout, pat their inside pockets, then pat their jacket pockets, then do "bunny ears" checking their head for their glasses, have an epiphany and delve into their bag to produce a pair of glasses

Once perched on their noses, the readout is "revisited" and the search process is repeated for their phone!

Only this time, once located a series of hurdles has to be overcome!

First the password, something that you would think in this day and age a fairly simple exercise, but no, obviously a challenge so after a couple of attempts, bingo, the screen lights up, but then the owner wants their "club card points" this is another tongue out, clamped between pursed lips moment of utter concentration, as the screen is scrolled through backwards and forwards, in a type of "App, Wheel of fortune" until the correct one is located and used!

Now the purchaser is finally ready to pay for their cat food, but no, it seems that "someone has deleted Google wallet" and as the potential purchaser (remember they haven't paid yet) tells the cashier "this keeps happening, things keep moving on my phone and I don't know how, I think its my daughter that lives in Australia!"

Finally the cashier steps in and points out the correct app, and the thirty eight people behind sigh a collected sigh of relief!

You need to have cookies enabled in order for it to track the cashback.
Also using a VPN can interfere with the tracking.

On another point - I was recently trying to register/open an account on a website and it kept knocking me back. I phoned their support and it turned out because I had cookies disabled it wouldn't allow the predictive address box to pop up. I enabled cookies and it then worked first time. Common issue apparently.

If you don't complete the transaction when you click through from TCB you won't get the cashback, you can do the transaction later but you always have to do the click through again. Also using a TCB click through and then a discount/reduction code too will always prevent you getting TCB cashback, you can't have both.

Sometimes a click through doesn't track so a claim has to be made (after waiting 7 days minimum). It is very rare for the claims not to then be approved, in all the years we've been using TCB I've only had one claim rejected but that was due to the cashback intermediary no longer doing it. As it was for £30 for opening a financial product I got in touch with the bank and explained the situation. They investigated and as we'd met the terms of the cashback and it was the intermediary who'd renaged the bank paid out.

Yesterday TCB were offering £2 bonus cashback on purchases of £10 or more so I bought £10 gift vouchers for Asda and Farm foods (we have more than one account). A nice little freebie. 😄

My wife uses TCB for everything she can. Also a good earner if you recommend someone. You both get a Bonus. She had £40 for introducing our son. and he got a £10 starter. It's money for nothing really. Because you are going to buy the item anyway.

Be careful, Reaves will be TAXING you on it. :xwink:
Legally it probably is taxable as it's an income, same as cash for switching bank accounts etc, but I doubt anyone declared it.

Surely not? It's just a discount on the purchase.
