We just travelled back from Northern Spain into France along the toll road past San Sebastián. At the tollbooth, we waited while the booth attendant consulted his tablet, then charged us the lowest ( car) class ( we are 3850kg and 3 m high) as we exited the toll booth, we were waved to the side of the road by the Guardia and told to stop on what looked like a weighbridge. We waited a few seconds then were waved on. I’m afraid my Spanish isn’t good enough to be able to ask why we were there.
Just before we arrived, another motorhome was on the weighbridge with the driver and passenger wandering about between the weighbridge office and their van. They had gone when we pulled over.
So, anybody know what they were checking and why we were stopped?
We always try our best not to look too shifty!

We had the same a few weeks ago, in our car,
( spanish ) we could only think they was checking us out.
One Gardia Civil was sat in the car, the other stood in the road, he must have got the nod and let us go. (y) Bob.

Getting some practice in ahead of March 30?

Maybe, but we are French registered, unless they are just practicing on any motorhome coming through first!
We also noticed French Customs and Police stopping every non French registered vehicle as we went through the toll booths near Bayonne. They had everyone and everything out of a UK registered car and another behind, waiting.
We were waved through with a smile!

Spain is officially neutral or pretended to be during WW2 so perhaps they are picking on anyone other than Germans?

Hold on a minute while I have some French plates made, oh, no I already have them.
