I'm a newbie
Hi,

I wanted to check whether people put anything into their fresh water flush for the toilet. It says you can use Aqua Rinse to add to the flush water but does this make any difference at all? I'm away for 6 months so we'd run out whilst away and I don't know whether it's worth hunting out or not.

We don’t use the flush just a spray bottle with the pink liquid from Aldi.

Chuck some conditioner in the cassette and that’s us done.

Saves our fresh water and more time before emptying the cassette ?

Lots of folk just put a cap of cheap bio washing liquid in their cassette that does the trick.?

If your van has a separate holding tank for the flush water, I advise not adding the pink chemical as if left to settle for a few weeks it blocks the pump up. Have seen this problem rear it's head on many many occassions

As above, dilute some pink, or fabric conditioner in a spray bottle and give the toilet bowl a spray before and after using

Many motorhomes do not have a separate flush tank, they take the water from the main tank and putting something in it is not an option. Since it is not an option for many of us it can’t be important. Manufacturers love to sell us expensive treatments wherever they can and in my opinion most of it is a waste of money and resources.

I’m the same as others above, nothing in the flush tank. We use a spray bottle with pink in or anything else that smells nice.

However, where are you going that you wont be able to top up on supplies?

As above, our flushing water comes from our main fresh water tank and we spray the loo bowl with pink to keep it fresh.
Our pink smells of bubble gum. :tounge:

Yes Aldi sell it.

Lot cheaper than “specialist” outlets ?

I think it’s neutral as far as nasty chemicals go so can be dumped even into septic tanks.
I was in Aldi the other day and they had discounted their 2ltr bottles of pink and blue to 25p to clear them. I was too late to get any pink, but got 4 blue. Check your local store, they may have some left

Haven't used chemicals for years. We just use some bio washing liquid in the cassette.
