Don’t get to excited 😆. I had to break the top latch because it was jammed closed !
Hopefully I provided some early morning entertainment on the rally field with my frantic attempt to open the door 😄

Oh crikey 😥 I used to have a jammed door on my Elddis. The only way I got it out was spraying wd40 on it which I believe isn’t ideal over a long period. I could never lock the door before either because it would firmly jam. Hope it’s a cheap fix!

I know how that’s happened!!

See what’s happened is that the body has contracted with your aircon on and endless breeze fan whirling the ice cold air around, and now it’s shrunk round the locker doors, give me the aircon and fan and you won’t have this trouble again 🤷‍♂️😁😁

If we had the OP's problem I suppose we could go into our garage, put the light on, open the spare cassette slide, close the garage door, squat and try a very accurate aim.

I might try practising, but do not ask for photos.
A big funnel might help 😂

Never use WD40 on plastic parts.

Use Silicon based sprays, even Mr Sheen is better than WD40 as the later makes the plastic swell and eventually fails.

edit Silicon based sprays and Mr sheen are a must for curtain rails etc.

On my recent holiday, I went to empty the cassette one morning - only to find that my highly intelligent teenage son, but who like all teenagers is dopey as hell first thing in the morning, had done a very large pee but forgotten to open the valve to let it into the cassette.

Removing the cassette means that said pee descends rapidly into the cupboard, splashing all over those removing the cassette and leaving a cupboard full of pee to clear up.

Thankfully we were at a campsite with showers - not golden ones - and a washing machine. Teenage son was left under the firm assurance that a repeat performance will involve much pain for him.......

I hope the teenage son cleaned it up to a 100% standard and does not have to walk home.

Could have been worse - opened the slide and forgotten to close it causing damage when you removed the cassette.

Anyway isn't cassette emptying a teenager's job to pay for a free holiday. Too soft some parents.

WD40 is normally OK on plastics like ABS is nylon that it buggers.

I thought it wasn’t advised but didn’t know what substitute to use. Sure there’s a full can of Mr Sheen in the van as well.

Google may help asway your concerns. current using 3in1 silicone lubricant. (no confection or sponsorship)

just don't use oil based lube on any plastic, includes locker locks ,curtain rails, etc, etc.

EDIT: Forgot to add silicon based lubes are good for your toilet cassette blade seal and internal/external moving parts.

Nah - I was covered in it anyway, so muggins here cleaned it up.

If the slide is open the cassette won't come out (yes, learnt that one when the kids were tots!), so no damage.

Cassette emptying - teenagers job  I'd like it to continue to work!!

I did exactly that many moons ago and he did take but didn’t listen so the button wasn't pushed and he got splashback all over his face😮😮 came back in a rage and vowed never to empty ever again, agreed on the proviso he couldn’t use it and he didn’t.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go into the bathroom and check that the bowl is empty and the slider is closed!

And run a basin of water to wash your hands when you return! (Leave bathroom door ajar or get copilot to watch for your return)

I always do that but left it open for others to say.
