I have a towbar rack. It’s designed for up to four bikes. The wheels fit into removable plastic channels. My old mountain bike wheels just about fitted but my new one has plus sized tires. They definitely will not fit. Any ideas?

Hacksaw?

Mountain bike tyres aren't well catered for in most standard racks. There seems to be an adaptor suited to some roof bar type Thule racks but can't find similar that might work with a tow bar rack

Remove the existing runner and replace it with some gutter channel?

4" plastic soil plpe cut to length then cut lengthways.....rain gutter isn't rigid enough but easier.
Carefully drill and screw in two places over the original channels then cut holes for the wheel straps.
I had to extend mine in length to cater for the extra length of my e-bike and worked a treat. You could shape the outer end to make it look more pleasing.
