I am on a quest to retro fit a 12v motor to my Thule 4200 Awning, I have purchased a 12v retro fit gearbox for a 5200 genuine Thule product, and i am attempting to make the gearbox and motor fit the 4200 with an adapter plate i am going to make and the reconstruct the cover to make the cover look good with a bit of CAD and a 3D printer.
I have had the 4200 gearbox and cover off the 4200 awning and checked the part No of the 4200 gearbox against the 5200 gearbox and they are the same part No, also i have checked that the drive shaft for the 4200 fits the gearbox of the new 12v gearbox and it does, so i cant see a problem with this.
The question is has anyone done this before.
If it works would anyone else like to see how it is done.
PS i have a 12v 20 amp supply direct from the leisure battery on the roof to connect it up via a switch already installed inside the MH.
