CL (Five Van Site) Thornfield farm nr York

Nice quiet site, ideal for a York tour, all water categories catered for , no toilets or showers but as we're self contained not an issue, 8 hard standing level pitches with EHU, £20 a night

I would rate that as expensive. Is there a price without EHU for those of us who do not even carry a cable?

Having 8 hard-standing pitches is advertising that they are prepared to break the 5 unit rule.

Is it a CL, CS or licensed by another body?

Yes I think it’s expensive but seems the going rate for cmc . We just paid £24 in Whitby for electric and water at the pitch, 3 shower blocks , laundry room including washing machines and kitchen washing up area…. Private site not cmc

If that is what you get for £24 then Thornfield Farm is bloody expensive.

Nearest park n ride 12 min drive, £3.50 pp covers parking and bus fare, we drove up night before on a spur of the moment idea to take SWMBO to York, something I've not done since a schoolboy, we're now in Brough for a Northern soul night (the original plan) but then having a MH allows you to do just that, btw they were the only site with a pitch out of the 5 sites tried

Map shows a Park and Ride at Monks Cross which looks like a short walk away from Thornfield Farm. Perhaps it is no longer in operation.

There is a wonderful THS at the cricket club in York. £10 per unit per night. We’ve just come back after 4 nights there. It finishes end of August and sadly won’t be back for 2 years due to extensive flood defence construction.
