What do I have to do about outside vents on thetford fridge for the winter

Preferably put winter covers under them….

But be careful they come in different sizes.

I have covers on, it's 3°C on site right now, forecast -2°c. They do help the fridge to work and if your fridge enclosure is poorly sealed they prevent draughts.

It needs refitting unless you want to die from CO poising.

Should also fit them when washing the van.
Best to leave the top one off when running on gas

I did refit mine years ago, used self adhesive neoprene foam to create a good seal. No draughts at all now.

can the fridge be used on EHU with the cover fitted? I noticed quite a draft inside this morning with the wind direction blowing right at the external vent.
If so Ill need to source one as the van didnt come with one.

Yes but if you have draughts coming in you should really sort out the fridge installation.

I stuck armaflex tape round our fridge at the back so it wedges in. Also got a Co alarm with LCD screen
