Thetford Fridge not working on auto

We have a Thetford Premium LCD fridge in our AS Kingham. Pulled up in Fez (Morocco = today and the fridge should automatically switch to gas but red light comes on and fault charge says "will not work on auto mode". The readings for the underslung gas tank suggests that we are still 50% full. We've tried running it off auto and onto the leisure battery but same fault comes up.
If we run the engine it appears to be fine. We aren't near a camp site so can't try mains electricity.
Any suggestions are welcome please

Our dometic fridge stays on 12v when we first stop engine for about 10 mins then fires the gas, I wonder if yours is detecting a low voltage on the cab battery?

Sounds more like a problem with the gas supply. Is the hob working okay and the heating system? If you've been using Moroccan gas you might have a fouling issue (we use a filter before the regulator just in case).

If you can get a good mains supply (not all that easy in Morocco) that may give additional clues.

With the engine running it should only work on 12v - which is really only enough to keep it cold.

Sorry can't help further but I have sympathy - our fridge will currently only run on gas after the mains element failed in Spain on our way here.

Thanks for the helpful responses once again.
Further to your questions the hob continued working and we haven't filled with Moroccan gas.
However l have pulled the 20a fuses and put them back in and turned the mains gas off and back on again resulting in the fridge now running on gas again (so far). Fingers crossed it was just a blip brought on by the incessant bouncing and juddering along some of poorer Maroc roads?
