This has probably been done to death, but here goes anyway.
Please don't get into a discussion about the rights and wrongs of vents on toilet cassettes and gassing your neighbours etc. with your fumes.
Just saying !

After putting up with the various aromas being present in the MH over the years, Mrs knokinonabit decided action was needed. So after stripping the cassette down completely and giving it a thorough clean I decided to invest in a Thetford vent. Having looked at several "how to" videos it became obvious that they all concentrated on the C260, which has a different filter housing shape to my C250, so I thought I would investigate further.

When the cassette is in place it pushes up a valve which releases the aroma into, as I thought wrongly, the atmosphere. It doesn't on our MH. It lets it go back into the MH as there is nowhere else for it to go.

That is where the filter should sit and the brown part is where a hole should be.

That is the cover in place and the circular bit pushes the valve in the cassette up

That is the part that does the pushing.

That is the base of the cassette and the round hole with the part that gets pushed up.

I am now going to order a vent kit and fit it.

The question is. Has anyone fitted one of these before ?
There appears to be two types. An automatic vent and an electric vent.
I would be very grateful if someone could give me the benefit of their experience

This is the thread you want.

Mine is the electric type that I modified with a additional fan operated by a PIR switch as you enter the toilet,
This switches the fan and interior light on before you operate the toilet slide, my vent goes down through the double floor of my A class through a charcoal filter and works well,
