Anyone on the forum done this?

I bought the C260 kit and wrongly assumed it would come with the fittings for a double floor.

The fitting of the basic kit is simple enough but what have others used to extend the kit from the underfloor storage to the true external floor?

Looked on Thetford site and can't see any extension kits which is surprising?

Having not seen what you are trying to install I can't comment.
However, we are an inventive bunch so post a picture or two?

All you need to do is cut a hole in the lower floor and add a length of plastic pipe to mate with the outlet in the cassette. Make sure the pipe is sealed to the outlet pipe or it will be very smelly in the van if not completely sealed.
When they fit underfloor SOG's they always fit a R/A on the end of the pipe to direct the exhaust away from the side of the van.

This what I had installed for a Alko chassis. There is a different kit for coming through the door entrance for the cassette removal.

Thanks all

That's what I assumed but wondered if there was a kit, presumably not.

As per the photos attached the vent come in the middle of the underfloor storage so I will try and find a r/a to take it along the upper floor and down to where the water tank empty valves are located.

Lenny - did you mean a r/a to direct under the van towards centre or to the side adjacent to the cassette door?

I have a Hymer installed SOG on mine, it was pointing to the back of the van I swiveled it so it points to the centre of the van as it's near our hab door side where we sit out.

Was it much hassle to get the whole toilet out? I'm thinking of modifying my SOG so it picks up from the Thetford vent hole like the one in my last Hymer did, why they didn't do it in this van I don't know.
Also looking at converting mine to a roof vent no filter need then.

The green filters are £24 a pop although they are supposed to last a year I find they need changing 2 or 3 times a year but I refill them myself for about £3.

Hi Lenny

Toilet out was pretty straightforward.
3 screws in the rear panel and 4 in the floor.
Disconnect electrics and water and it lifts out.

Oddly as I moved the water feed pipe it started to seep from the join you can see in the photo. When I put everything back in and fully tightened the joint it still seeps ?

I've taken it all apart and refitted just waiting to refill and test again but will wait till I get the parts for the extractor pipe.

What is with access to any part on a motorhome - I'm starting to think all Funsters must be double jointed 3 ft tall midgets with ultra long fingers ?

You just get the boss to pull you out when you get stuck, yes I have had to do it.:ROFLMAO:

I was wedged between the cab seats and the centre console yesterday - totally stuck!

I did that when I replaced the under dash centre cup holds with a drop down locker door instead ... got totally jammed in! :giggle:

When I was putting a DIY sog in our previous Globecar I used some of the corrugated piping to take the outlet exhaust along to where the Truma breather and frost-relief pipes exited and just made the hole bigger.

Rapido put a stainless steel sink plug hole in the hole where the thetford filter fits connected through the double floor to outside. Had a thetford kit fitted by dealer it was useless had it removed and fitted a door mounted sog which works fine.

Finished the fan exhaust today. Not as I originally planned (surprise surprise). The outlet was 38mm and couldn't find that anywhere, intended to p

ut a bend, run along the upper floor and down to the existing drain outlets. By the time I added a convertor to 40mm and a bend it was half way to the floor level so all pointless to do. Mounted it vertical straight through the floor, haven't bothered with a bend underneath to see how it performs - or not!

And I finally found a use for the 90 degree drill bit I bought thinking 'that will come in useful' the photo looks skewed but it's just me trying to hd drill and phone at the same time!

Our Hymer fitted one has a short tube from the underside of the fan and through the lower floor. Like Lenny HB says it has a deflector on the bottom to point backwards. I think that is more to stop road spray getting in rather than pointing the smell somewhere else.

I've got one of those, never been used. Good old Lidl. I did think of a use for it the other day blowed if I can remember what it was.
