Having seen the recent thread on here about a MH owners allegations of rudeness by the Wardens at Norfolk Broads camc site I should point you to the camc members forum of Facebook where this same story was posted the other day, turns out this guy rocked up on site over an hour after it closed 21.05pm to be precise, and he wonders why the Wardens were 'off' with him???? Fair play to the Wardens for not taking such nonsense 👏 seems like this fact was somehow missing from his online rants.........

😂😂😂
I think when he mentioned that he spoke to the wardens and told them his “ friends were running VERY late “ would indicate a late arrival .😉
As said before , I hope you enjoy the forum 👍🏻

He did indeed, I think he also mentioned that his friends called the warden.

In any case "Rocking up" an hour late is not a reason for anyone to be rude and bad tempered, I wouldn't applaud anyone for behaving that way.

Cheers
Red.

Thanks for that - it is always good to here more than one perspective on a situation. Which CAMC Facebook page are you talking about - there are two probables and a third possible?

If you come from a distance not being allowed to arrive late is a pain in the neck.

One of the reasons I don't do clubs.

Along with the fact that they don't put members first nor are the wardens accessable in time of emergency....

You obviously missed the bit stating that.
To me VERY late isn't an hour ,its 2 or 3 +.

If the guy was 'economical' with the truth re his arrival time I'd very much take his claim of having phoned twice with a large pinch of salt

The wardens at the site were informed that the “customer” would be very late ! That covers more than one hour ! Sorry to repeat myself but you don’t seem to be reading the replies 🤷🏻‍♂️

If you read the threads you will see there are lots of disgruntled people with a lot of different sites, they can’t all be telling lies, why would they? You are of course entitled to support wardens but I also suggest you listen to the complaints and do something about it.

Agreed, I thought about suggesting that they post in the original thread but I see now that they already had so almost certainly one agenda...

I wonder if this is the Martin Kemp that does motorhome / van repairs up north

He/she was trying to say that loads of members/ex members were all wrong, on a hiding to nothing I think. My biggest gripe with the CMC was the poxy booking system where people booked twelve months of pitches just in case they felt like going. If they had to pay say 25% deposit they wouldn’t do it.

Did I not read somewhere that this has changed and a deposit is now required?????

Yes, that’s why I said was. I was on a zoom meeting with the CMC last year, there were twenty of us and we bounced ideas about. I talked about the booking system and the bloody peg system. I had a “discussion” read row with a warden that demanded I park on the peg until I pointed out that our hab door was continental and he wanted us to get out into a hedge. I explained they need to get up to speed with this as even some of their stalwart caravanners will have some.

Couldn't show the difference between club sites and Aires better, ok someone might moan a bit if you wake them on an Aire, but we are all there for the same thing ok we might have had a long drive or been held up but we can't help that we need to park up and live and let live.

We were at Carradale Bay Site CAMC Affiliated site was told to site van centrally to white peg.. either nose in or tail in...
If putting on awning site van with peg midway between combined unit.
Now what could be easier than that... no confusion.. no arguments...

Paul, I had a similar discussion with the Warden at the CAMC's Chapel Lane site, who was adamant that I would pitch on the peg, leaving us hardly any room to get in or out the blooming hab door. Her problem was that I was adamant too, and I moved the ruddy peg, then pitched. Job sorted. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

21.05, just realized this is nine o clock in English , god if someone had finished work at 5 and gone half way across the country, what time did they expect them there?

What if you want to park across the back of the pitch for the view or the sun. You paid for the pitch park how you like.
