For the first time we visited the NEC Motorhome and Caravan Show and came home with a warm glow.
As members of the Adria Owners Club we were, to our surprise, sent free tickets to the show. We wore FUN our badges with pride, wondering if any other FUN members were there but saw nobody. Next surprise was discovering as members of the Brownhills club, we were entitled to a free lunch and drink, which was lovely. There were so many halls to view that by mid-afternoon we were flagging but once more Brownhills saved the day by providing a tasty cake and another drink. Sadly we missed out this day by not noticing we could have had a mid-morning bacon butty and bun and yet another drink.
We did not spend too much but found a few things to improve our lives including a goodly ACSI discount.
It may have rained outside but this day, the sun shone brightly inside the NEC

We saw you two reprobates but by then we had taken our badges off - though only used the small button pin badges as I was too idle to rummage in the motorhome for the bigger ones

Did you see Jim with his Sunday name on his Press Badge, and off course eddievanbitz and his gorgeous wife.

Not our first visit so had much more time to observe the niceties of the show
New motorhomes with loads of extra lights suspended in every roof vent to brighten the interiors
Noticed some REALLY pushy spotty faced kids(with a script which tried to make them over 30) trying to pressure sell
Also saw something which unless you stare you don't notice, on the stairs between halls you get the roof top views of Carthago vans with missing sealant on the roof panels
and lots more little things

I too joined club Adria and had an email from David saying my free tickets are in the post?? happy days, just got to make time to go?

Hi Madcaravanner
I am sorry not to have seen you, Jim or Eddie but we still met some lovely people to encourage being FUN badge holders.
My! How truly observant you are. Missing sealant on a Carthago? Wow!
It seamed everywhere we went someone was pointing a TV camera (Chanel 5) at anything that was not moving.

Surprised that you could see missing sealant on a Carthago roof, as all the joints are either capped or covered with a rubber seal. There were some Malibu vans on the Carthago stand by the stairs, and they may be of a different construction, so it could have been them that you were looking at. Would still be suprised if sealant was missing though.
