Bedford Rascal Bambi
Hi guys, I have a problem with the internal lighting in my campervan, it's a Bedford Rascal Bambi, the internal lighting is wired up to the main battery as opposed to the leisure battery. Anyone know how to rewire it? Any help would be most welcome 🙏 😊

No, sorry, but I found this ....

trace the fuse for the circuit, and rewire that to the leisure battery. Changing all the old lights to LED should also be a priority as they take a fraction of the current, so the battery lasts longer

Not trying to be clever ,honest, but isn't it just a matter of swapping the wire from one battery to the other?

Thanks but I have the original manual and to be honest, it's very vague on the wiring content

Not quite that simple, too many wires in the battery compartment

To be honest I’d be looking at what all those wires are for (possibly disconnecting each in turn to see what they feed) and move anything not van/cab related to the leisure battery (not just the light circuit).

Definitely a good idea to change to led as suggested above too.

Get yourself on a rally list and ask for help. Theres usually at least one knowledgeable person , and funsters are a very helpful lot.

Oh you need to subscribe first but its well worth the £15 yearly subscription

I've had three Bambis and loved 'em.
They all had just the one battery which supplied everything.

Some of the internal lights in my Daughter's Bongo come off the Vehicle Battery.

I was worried about her running the battery down, so fitted a Vanbitz Battery Master, to trickle charge the Vehicle battery from the Leisure battery, which is usually being charged by EHU.

If a few of your circuits run from the starter battery, I'd be thinking of installing something like this.
It's a fusebox with easy connections for both positive and negative wires. It has 6 fuses, so once it's installed you could easily add circuits like 12V sockets or USB sockets.

Connect it to the leisure battery with a nice thick wire, with a fuse near the battery. Then you can add circuits like the lights or some sockets, all properly fused and safe.

Thanks for the info, I have managed to sort it.
