Hi.
All was going well, picked it up in December, came back across and was VERY happy with how it handled/went, coming back again a couple of weeks ago i had to brake hard twice. The first occasion,i thought there was a bit of a lag in the power coming back on,but dismissed it,couple of days later, had to brake up again, but this time,it was some seconds before the power came back on again.
Will be back again in August,so rang a Fiat truck dealer and asked if there was a recall on this vehicle and explained the faults,i was told no,but if i call in they will investigate. Have read up all about EGR valves etc and this seems to be the culprit, now then...Blanking Off if it is ?

See this thread https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/intermitent-engine-cut-out.178192/

I had been out as a passenger in my friend John's (@TREES MOVING ) van when this occurred. After some investigation by the Fiat Proffessional dealer, they said that there was nothing wrong, and what was happening was that John was catching the brake and throttle peddles at the same time causing the engine to go into limp mode. The technician took John and myself out in John's van and could recreate this at will. He went on to say that it was more prevalent on auto's and their breakdown guys had been advised not to wear boots when driving new vans.

I've tried to recreate it in my 2016 euro 5+ van but can't. It seems to have come in with the 2017 euro 6 vans

Cheers

Hi @Treeeev
Thanks for your reply. This could well be the answer,do tend to wear boots..(Old habits die hard(y)) and do tend to "Hot foot shuffle " when in Hot pursuit modul:cool:. Will NOT try to replicate this, because it is literally Dead in the water, but will take greater care with my "Plates of meat:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ".
Being a Renault Master man,it took some doing buying the Wildax Fiat, but it had the Constellation 3 on it so went ahead. Very pleased,it does pick its skirt up when ordered (And when noto_O) Its comfy and a nice driving position, its our second Wildax,so like the bolted on/in bits,Win-win.
Thanks again.

Hi Trevor.
Have read the above posts,Jennifer has the answer for you,i was driving after my hip replacement second Cup fitting when this happened, not a lot of movement, and i was calling the surgeon ALL sorts of names. "After my first one in 2001,i was up and about like jack the lad back in the cab" She said,as only wives do.
"You doddering old bat, that was nearly twenty years ago,EVERY THING(n) is twenty years older, the muscle has been cut twice, and you are nearing your sell bye date..BEHAVE!!;);)(y)

Hopefully this is something simple like John's (@TREES MOVING) was (y). He was wearing crocs (which are slightly wider than normal footwear) when this was happening and the Fiat Professional workshop said it only needed the slightest touch on both pedals at the same time to cause it to go into limp mode. He is now not wearing the crocs for driving and trying to modify his driving style to avoid it happening again ;).

Now you know what it might be, you can get back to enjoying your holiday(y)

Cheers

So how come when I drive up on ramps in our 2017 Ducato auto, one foot on the throttle and feathering the brakes our does not go into limp mode or is this only above a certain speed?

If I do that my engine justs cuts out, I'm assuming like me & the OP you have the Comformatic box.

Well, this is useful knowledge. I haven't needed to use the ramps so far, but I am now forewarned.
