I have my motorhome for sale

I’d like to know what people do about allowing buyers a test drive when selling their motorhomes privately. Should I ask the insurance company to extend cover for any driver is this possible, or will insurance companies give short cover period for this? Or do people buy a van without actually driving it themselves?

When I sold mine I offered the guy a test drive but he preferred that I drove as he didn't think he would be covered by insurance.
He was quite happy and his first drive was when he came to collect it.

When I bought my first MH from a private seller I arranged short term insurance for a day. Cost about £20. I wouldn't let anyone drive mine without evidence of cover for it's full value!

Same as that.
Or full amount in cash in your hand.

You would probably have issues if it was insured for any driver on your insurance and someone did a distraction theft.
