Are we the only ones with this problem?

It's happened twice now (a new one is en route) and I managed to free it the first time but I now seem to have a pan with a permanent handle ... rather defeats the object

Getting RSI trying to release it. Is there a trick to it. ?

Try putting the pan with the handle attached in the freezer and/or in very hot water, the differential shrinking or expanding of different components may free it.

Not long enough!
If you read the instructions your not supposed to wash the handles.
Maybe thats what is damaging them?

The new one arrived; read the warranty conditions ... "exposure to heat from a flame" is one of the exclusions. How can a pan handle not be exposed to heat from a flame on a gas hob ?

Was told by staff in Tefal Outlet that the handle is only meant to be used for moving the pan & not to be fitted whilst on the hob - bit of a shame it's not more durable but do get used to using it that way & then only need one handle per set.

We only put the handle on to lift the pans.
Safer that way because there's nothing to catch.
It's surprising how much heat comes up the sides on gas.
