What is the current best price for either tests that people are finding as the govt web site no longer lists prices....!

Different prices for different countries and the rules are changing daily as governments change the type of tests required.
Phil
really....I thought that there was only two types , ie Lateral Flow and PCR. How can the price differ as to if you want to go to France or to say Spain from the UK?

From 00:00 CET 4 December (23:00 GMT 3 December), fully vaccinated travellers (aged 12 years or over) travelling from outside of the European Union to France must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from either a PCR or antigen test. Tests must be taken no more than 48 hours before travel for vaccinated travellers and no more than 24 hours before travel for those who are not fully vaccinated. Self-administered tests are not accepted. HGV and van drivers arriving in France from the UK are not required to provide a negative COVID-19 test to enter France. Consult the French Embassy in the UK website and the French government’s website for further information. We will update these pages as soon as further details are confirmed.

The Antigen test must be undertaken by a non NHS service. The costs vary from around £20.00 up to stupid amounts. Just google for one near you and make sure it provides a fit to fly certificate.

We just had to change from lateral flow to PCR in order to return from the USA having the lateral flow required when we went had to be changed to PCR. Cost us another £96.

Yes I think I know this but was trying to pick the brains of anyone who has gone down this road in the last few days...not really bothered about one near me as it can be done via post and photo/ video. what I don't want to do is trawl through the 1130 web sites to find that the 1110 is the cheapest when some one may have done it two days ago....... the gov site used to list the charges but no longer does so ...just a list of web sites and phone numbers.

Has anyone actually used the Lateral Flow test to enter France and if so was it one of the postal ones where you return a photo of the result or was it done at a clinic face to face please?
Are the 'postal' ones acceptable does anyone know?

Test has to be taken within 48 hours of entry, so postal test may not be a good idea

We had home Lat Flow tests to enter France last year. Do test send them a pic of result, they then send you certificates. Joke system, but got us where we wanted.

OK so this was the real issue that I was driving at in my second question. It would seem that 'self administered' is when you not only take the test yourself but also interpret the results . In much the same way you would as if you had taken a free test from the local pharmacy at home. The tests that are taken at home but then interpreted by a remote third party either by video or photo seem to be acceptable because of the third party interpretation! This is the answer I received from one testing company by email and also is pretty much what the French govt says here....https://uk.ambafrance.org/COVID-19-rules-for-travel-between-France-and-the-UK-28918
