Table problem on Bailey Adamo 69-4

The cable that controls rotation of the table in my Bailey Adamo 69-4 has broken. It looks like a pretty normal brake-type cable to me, but my dealer tells me that Bailey can't supply it as a separate part and are quoting me £780 for a replacement table mechanism. It surely must be fixable at a much lower cost than that! Anyone had a similar problem and managed to solve it?

have you stripped it out to find the problem? you may be able to make your own cable using a bicycle brake cable or even repairing the one you have if it hasnt actually snapped - sometimes the end bit comes off ...

Haven't stripped it down yet, looks like a complex mechanism, but that's likely to be the next job for me (or someone professional) once we've sourced a replacement cable. Yes, the cable has definitely snapped, rather than just the end coming off. Thanks for the advice.

There are companies that specialise in Bowden cables. No way would I take Bailey’s offer. You dealer is just being lazy. But that seems to be par for the course with Bailey.

Google Bowden cables and see what you get.
