Any other Funsters there at the end of this month?

Unfortunately no, had a wonderful. Time there with the grandkids even though one managed to break his wrist. Enjoy

First time there but looks grand

Can I ask why there rather than the C&MC which is virtually next door?

Just fancied the look of the site after recommendation from family who’d stayed there. We normally use C&MC sites but thought we’d give this one a visit.

We have a Virgin experience to take at a vineyard near there so were considering this site so a review would be good

Will do👍 There are a couple of YouTube videos covering it too. The staff have been great with rearranging due covid also.

We did a vineyard experience bought for us as a Christmas present. Nice idea but by the time we'd driven down from Yorkshire, paid the site fees and had a taxi up to the vinyard it cost us a small fortune. ;)

We're only about an hour away and I used to live in the area so it will be nice to revisit the area.

I could, of course, make a comment about Yorkies and their county motto of "haaaaaa moooooch?" 🤣

In the summer Swiss Farms swimming pool is open. They have a large football pitch/ play area and a licensed cafe, good dog walk area and easy access from the back of the site for walks through the adjacent hills.
Facilities are excellent and wardens very laid back.

Apart from that, no reason not to use the C&MC site...(y)

And a fishing lake, caught a 15lb carp last time we were there. 👍

It was a genuine query as we have stayed at the C&MC site a few times and are due again in July all things being equal. We love the area and have seen the Swiss Farm site when we walked into Henley. We normally take a scooter with us to get to other local areas along the river. Having looked at your list of facilities there is only one on there that we would consider using and that is the cafe so for us there is no benefit in going there rather than the C&MC site but for those who would use them it looks a good site.

Which one of the two sites offers the best overall value? The CMC or Swiss Farms, save me looking it up, anyone know, its not that far away from us, yet I have never considered either before.
Thanks
LES

Does the price include one or two people?,

It’s a nice site and the cafe does great food when it’s open. I really like the Bull pub in Henley also, oh and the Chocolate cafe down by the river. (y)

Must admin was a little disappointed with Henley itself. Thought Marlow was nicer Seemed a bit more to do.
Fantastic walk to Marlow too.
There’s a site midway called Hurley Riverside that is in a good location if you want to spend time on the water. Not stayed there yet.

I prefer Swiss Farm as there is less traffic noise than on the CMC site . Nice walk into Henley and riverside walks and the grave of Dusty Springfield by the church near the river.
Another site we have enjoyed by the Thames is Hurley Riverside with divebombing Red Kite for entertainment and walks to the locks.

Have to check out that Hurley Riverside one. We’re off to Riverside site at Stratford upon Avon for a few nights on the way back to the frozen north

It looks a nice site. We've never really stayed on 'sites' before so I looked at the cost for our first week of freedom.

£215.00 including the booking fee for 7 nights on the smallest touring pitch. All services included I know - but is that the norm??

Think we normally pay £20-30 per night on c&mc sites. We prefer sites to CL’s but that’s just us

Thanks for that. I think it's just that we're used to 0-10 Euros per night on an Aire. Brave new world for us this year!!! Don't know if I like it

Take a torch for the walk back from town - it's a very dark road!

Last time I stayed at the Caravan Club site, sadly someone was knocked down and killed just outside the site.

Henley Marlow & Hurley are a nice area of the Thames.
Hurley is a bit more exclusive for residents.
I’ve forgotten it’s celebrity residents now though (it being +20yrs since I had work in the area).

My recent exposure is as a user of the Riverside Park site. The kevenh’s liked it & the location.
There are nice walks on the riverbank or inland.
Can’t remember visiting the local country pubs. For our long weekend they were off route or shut on Monday, iirc
The pub in Hurley was friendly for a quick pint. Didn’t check food.

A car Lost control when we were walking back one night. He managed to recover it but it was bloody terrifying as he only just avoided mounting the pavement we were on.
