We decided to stay for a day and night at our pitch at Little Paxton yesterday, so we met our daughter and family who have the pitch next door to us and a few friends, about 15 of us in all including grandkids and their friends.

I decided to take my canoe as we are pitched next to a lake, and it was a real hit with the kids.

They spent the whole day and most of the evening just paddling about. I had actually taken a small electric outboard for them, but they insisted on using the paddles instead and over the day, they became very proficient.

Really pleased with the way it went, so much better than them being glued to I-players all day!

Sorry about the quality of the pictures, I think the lens on my phone got a bit clouded, my granddaughter in the middle with a couple of her mates;

How lovely .... making memories for them .... and you.

Yes it really pleased my daughter as well.

We are a very boaty family and she spent a great deal of her childhood "simply messing about in boats" as the quote from the Wind in the willows goes.

Good to see the life jackets on !!:)

It’s funny, we’re from a sailing / kayaking family too and wouldn’t think of going out without buoyancy aids.
Strange, though, that fishermen often don’t wear them. And often can’t swim either.
