Does anyone have any recommendations for men’s sun protection clothing, shirts, trousers, hats etc

Preferably made in the UK but maybe that’s too much to ask, prefer at least 50 factor.

I have a few pairs of Craghopper trousers but find the quality rubbish, the stitching on the groin area always falls to pieces.

A Barmah leather hat is a good all-rounder. The rim keeps the sun off your nose, ears and neck. You just have to them a leather feed no and again to keep the leather in condition. I do favour shorts which I swap to in January in Spain then back to longs in October. The best ones I have are Samual Windsor. They are good stout material with good waist fastening. Only problem is they went bump during Covid, but someone has bought the shoe division so there is hope.

Are you willing to pay for the quality you want?
It will not be cheap.
Maybe Australian manufacturers, they know a bit about sun protection.
Or outdoors specialists like Rohan.

I think you will struggle to find uk made, or if you find it the price may be an issue.

I like doing outdoor stuff and swim, paddleboard but as I am fair skinned I am careful in any weather .

Where I tend to buy - and so I will suggest you take a look - Cotswold Outdoor , Decathlon ( their rash vests have been great for swimming ) and Alpkit .

I had a couple of Colorado brand shirts and a pair of shorts that were great, I'd agree with you on Craghopper though, used to be decent stuff, but it's now on a par with Peter Storm ?

Within reason sometimes they have special offers too.

I like Rab clothing. Not made in the UK sadly but the quality is good. I buy mine from Cotswold Outdoors and they have lots of other ranges which might appeal to you. My husband likes Fjallraven trousers and tops.

Bogie Knights Devonport.
Gov surplus. 😁

Another vote for Rohan but also have a look at Montane. If you want it made in the UK I could suggest buying a sewing machine but there are UK manufacturers, for example Hilltrek:

2nd for Rohan, good sun protection, plus most items of clothing can be washed and dry within 4 hours, so great for Van life as you don’t need loads of clothes so payload is helped too

Mountain warehouse do womens uv protective clothes so it stands to reason they do mens..? 😎

Another vote for Rohan - and if you get in quick they have a sale on. Bags at less than half price...

Burghaus offer free repairs for life in the UK, you just pay p and p.

Barmah hat, or a Tilley. Both are excellent.

Mountain Warehouse Isocool fabric is 50 factor...ok quality, very easy wash/dry. Also Decathlon state UV figures I think.

Gill are a UK company that have a range of 50uv clothing. Aimed mainly at the sailing market but the long sleeved t-shirts are great for waking in, shorts too.

There is also another small UK company called Life Jacket specialising in sun protection including hats, tops and sunscreens.

Yet another vote for Rohan. Brilliant for travelling, dries very quickly and never needs ironing. Very good SPF values.

Expensive at full price, but a couple of sales each year and other offers from time to time.

Too much wine consumed if you are waking up in yesterday's sailing clobber. :)

Allready have a range of machines /overlocker and operator, just need the material (maybe patterns). Are there fabric specifications and sources. She needs a new project.

If you want proper sun protection have a word with the cancer charities, they will give you their list of clothing manufacturers for skin cancer sufferers, they are not cheap though
