Well most people know of Dusseldorf show and some of you will have been as indeed we have 3 times I believe, anyway here we are again but heading for Stuttgart this time to see what they are giving away:LOL:

So first stop off the Zeebrugge ferry is the N+B Stellplatz for the night, just been to the Turkish imbiss for pizza and beer and now ready for bed and it’s only 7:45 well I might last till 8pm.

Martin

And Jen had a glass of wine but can’t decide wether to drink it or Dive in,

You are going to that many shows Martin and looking at that many A class that one day you will succumb, if you keep parading 20 beautiful, naked women in front of a man he will eventually relent.:D2
Its inevitable.
Me, no temptation anymore, sticking with the old girl until i'm 70 in 17 years then the electric jobby one will be the last.;)

Can't argue with that Paul but again like women you just know when you have found the right one;) and it's not easy when you already have a good one(y)

Too deep for me Martin. Have a safe trip, look forward to catching up, there may be lots of new stuff at the show I hear Buttner have V2 of their box on show but we shall see?

We should arrive in Stuttgart this afternoon if our luck and the tailwind hold, we have tickets for two days but of course can get more if we get immersed.

Lots of new N+B around the factory compounds, might get a photo if it stops raining(y)

The stellplatz is the opposite side of the halls to your hotel but if it's busy they use other parking areas possibly even close I believe, either way we will catch you.

Martin

Serious stuff now Martin, some photos would be good of the naked women, sorry A class vans.
Are Vario exhibiting there?

So first day of the show no Varios @CazPaul or Volkner,

So this is the sliding drawer system in the N+B Flair, now it’s a step to bed,

Then it slides left and right to reveal his and hers drawers, our in our case hers and hers.

And now for something completely different,

A cabriolet motorhome, the roof over the drivers cockpit and lounge slides right back Even for driving I believe, the window on the right front is to aid driver vision as you are sat that high up, total madness I think.

It actually looked a quality build, but might need to get the sides out on a French aire before the neighbours snuggle up.

And we bumped into 1 funster and two sales guys from SMC.

So what have we bought you all want to know;)

Well nothing is the simple answer but we do have another day,

We both like the PhoeniX Maxi liner, I like the garage especially as its nearly as big as our Flair, we also both like Morelo Loft except the garage let’s it down but we could get one shorter than the Flair which we said we were going for.

So we go for a chat with Morelo and they say “of course the loft will be replaced at Dusseldorf this year and 2019 production is now sold out”:LOL: so if we order the new model unseen we get it this year or wait for Dusseldorf and get delivery 2020.

Or we could just keep the Flair forever (y) and then we can afford to eat.

Eating is so overrated Martin.

Wait for the German recession to bite and there might be some cancellations. Also Martin your best bet may be to enquire which dealers have lofts on order that are not customer order, that's what I did when I wanted my Flair, Durrwang had 5 on order all could be revised both size wise and option wise. So back to the Morelo stand and ask Anja Bauer the question or nab each of the dealers and ask if they have one.
A search on mobile.de reveals 22 for sale!

Hi Michael

There certainly are build slots booked by dealers but without customers against them but then there is a new Daily chassis with the latest Euro 6D emissions spec and a few other options like lane assist brake assist stability control and cruise control distance thingy to name a few, the other argument is that by the time the van is delivered the new model will be shown at Dusseldorf show.

Its one of those difficult calls, like most technology or fashion driven things these days you just have to accept that this is the model available at this distinct moment in time take or leave it!. For me it was slightly different I was on the Morelo stand and said I could live with the submarine hatches but not the hedge trimmer awning as well, and Andreas said what you need is the 2019 Palace Liner, same roof line as the Empire! So I waited. Might not do that again in retrospect as these guys, that's the generic manufacturers all work on the back of a fag packet and you can never get the full picture until its off the production line. Tell you more tomorrow!

Hi Michael

We have been conversing over the keyboard for that long now do you think we will manage a face to face over a glass or two or will we just sit and chat on Fun and let the girls get on with the real talking;)

Martin

No pictures from yesterday in the show so you have to make do with a nice sunny day in Stuttgart and,

Well that’s it we have three and a bit days in the show and now are getting more confused Morelo are changing the Loft for 2020 and 2019 productions is basically sold out, they are also streamlining the range and dropping the shorter option in the Palace so now the shortest version will be the 85L at 8.69 metres.

We have decided that we are doing nothing till Dusseldorf show at the end of August so that pushes us into 2020 so the old Flair lives to serve us for another year;)

So just a few photos from today,

Morelo Loft 78F nice van if you need to be under 8 metres, we want to be but don’t “need” to be so makes the compromises hard to tolerate.

N+B Flair with metallic paint by BMW, at €14k it’s an expensive option but did look good,

So we have escaped the clutches of various dealers all selling very expensive but sumptuous accomadation on wheels, we are now in Strasbourg and it’s Christmas,

And rather lovely and quite busy.

We are on a campsite about 20 minutes walk to the centre, the toilet block is red hot so the shower in the van might have a rest for a couple of days, and the best bit is we get it on our campsite vouchers that came with the ferry booking so just €2.20 tourist tax to pay.

Martin

So just a recap on the show if anyone fancies it next year, it’s not as big as Dusseldorf so don’t expect as many models per manufacturer or even all the specialists like Vario and Volkner.

If you want to take the van parking is on site at €25 per night pay on arrival and then per day you stay this includes electric or €20 without, its a short walk into the show from the camping and there is even a bar on site for the evening.

If you don’t fancy taking the van the exhibition halls are right next to the airport and train station so if you had accomadation in Stuttgart it would be 20 or 30 minutes on the train or there are airport hotels.

There were very few Brits there and no U.K. dealers as far as I could tell, the problem we find is that the manufacturer stands are staffed by their dealers and to go in many of the vans you need stand personnel with you so then once you have taken 10 minutes of their time they claim you as theirs and pounce on you if you go near the stand again, we looked at Concorde Charisma but the dealer showing us was from Stuttgart which is too far from home for us so we needed to play it a bit carefully.

Anyway all things considered a great show with loads of vans and then as an added bonus there are 3 or 4 halls of holiday companies camp sites cruises sea bridge travel shipping and guided tours so lots to fill your time.

The problem with German shows is once you speak to one dealer all the other dealers keep clear of you. Nice to see they are not at each others throats but makes if difficult if you are after the best price.

Just walking back to the site, yes a campsite:LOL:

We see this big rat in the river,
