Getting there!
Every now and again we get a strange noise when driving, sometimes on roundabouts and the other day in slow moving traffic on an incline.

The only way to describe it is like a honk that a goose makes but softer.

It speeds up when you go faster which makes me think it’s something to do with a wheel or something else rotating, could it be a wheel bearing?

Anyone had similar? I could take it to the garage but I know it’ll stop the second I do!

Brakes have not long been overhauled, suppose I could have been unlucky and picked a stone up but would that be intermittent?

Have brakes ‘ settled bedded in ‘ ?

Decent trips ? Does that mean miles and miles with out using brakes on motorways etc ?

Check the stone guards on the back of the discs, they can sound a bit like you describe if something is fouling them.

I get the same noise and it's very annoying in as much as you would think that two services including brake checks (by two different garages) would have tracked the cause down. It seems to occur more turning left than right (but I might be imagining that), happens at all speeds (except when manoeuvring slowly when it becomes more of a drawn out hoot) (and no, we don't have an owl trapped under the van) and can be stopped sometimes by simply lifting the handbrake very slightly until the alarm bleeps and then releasing it again. Can go for miles without it happening. Other times it hoots along with us for most of the journey. Surely it is a "Ducato thing" and someone knows what it is . . . . . ?

Possible or stone in brake pads?
Had that many a time on various vehicles over the years and can make one hell of a noise. Fortunately having managed to identify which was the wheel/disc in question I have managed to jiggle the bit of stone out by finding somewhere to reverse at speed or drivng the wheel in question over some bumpy surface to bounce it out it out. Failing that it's remove wheel and pick it out.

No, a couple of 2 hour trips each way on busy A roads and a 3 hour trip to York mostly motorway but heavy traffic.

I was overtaken today by a car, where the undertray was vibrating like mad. I presume the driver had been experiencing noise/vibration which was hard to identify.

It is the handbrake shoes , slaken Them off s couple of notches through the rear wheel nut hole . I had it for ages gave up with Fiat and did it myself .

We are sure the noise comes from the front.

Id avoid roundabouts and slow moving traffic on inclines or just turn the wireless up

I experienced a strange noise on way down to Dorset. It felt like every single mile.
She read every sign out aloud word for word - as if I can’t read whilst I’m driving. Then she never bloody shut up. And if that wasn’t enough, she sorted her handbag out at least 5 times. Shame she doesn’t sort the inside of her car out as much.
I hope you get your mouse sorted - it sounds like yours will be quietened before mine!
