Hi All
had a search but to no avail. Anyone any experience or thoughts about stopping the push button locks from letting rain water in?

I have a locker door which has the hinge at the up and locks at the bottom. Water passes through the lock / button, bypassing the seal and wets the wooden wall batten. Rot needs to be replaced.
Is this leak curable or need new locker?

TIA

The locker for the cassette?
Maybe the seals are missing/shot.
But our locker is dry inside - except when I deduced what the rubber bung is for. (The flush reservoir drain…)

the assembly of the lock should include a very thin neoprene washer. And packing the spring with silicone grease will stop minor water ingress

Thank you both.
not the cassette door. I think it’s their #5 locker, for accessing under a bunk.

is there a kit available TheBig1 ?

not that I have seen unless you buy the entire latch assembly

Cheers. I’ll take it apart and have a look. What’s the worst that can happen

I had the thetford toilet door leak on my van, tried new seal, hinge pins,lock......all with no improvement
In the end I bought a new door frame which solved the problem, i still have no idea what part leaked on old one 🤷‍♂️ but wish I'd bought new in the beginning
Also swapping the frame let me check if any damage had been done whilst leaking 👍

TheBig1 think this would solve the problem.

It won't stop a leak, but will restore the mechanism to near new. The new spring will push tighter against the button, so closing the gap, so it will be better. Pack it with silicon grease as well to prevent the water seeping through

Thank you TheBig1 and busbuddy

perhaps a combination is the way to go. I do know rear the batten that forms the lower / leaking edge needs replaced too. Need to find it’s dimensions first.
thanks again.

Hi I have known the locker door seals to have the join at the centre top. I fit it at the bottom along with a drop of super glue on the join. Never really come across the catches leaking unless not adjusted properly. It is possible for the rubber seal to not make good contact and allow water to pass. You can try putting 4/6mm plastic tube into the rubber tube in the door seal, this bulks it out to give a better seal
